colemans attacking play was insanely good at blackpool, he was a huge factor in their promotion, and he immediately looked like a player for us, he has of course improved, but it was obvious he was a player from the get go, just a few park enders preferred hibbert. With Kenny, who knows, I've seen some decent defensive attributes, but I can't say he stands out, apparently he had an attacking game in the ressies so maybe we haven't seen it yet
He's playing under Allardyce, who thinks by having no shots on target, we're playing attacking football.

from what I've seen he is okay when attacking on instinct, but struggles when he has more time, which would suggest a lack of technique, but having a debut season with three managers in a poor side is hardly ideal, maybe it will be the making of him though, your toughest players mentally are often the one who had a baptism of fire

Done superb!! Mentally tired you say! So that’s why he’s too slow always out of position, can’t tackle, can’t pass and can’t read the game. Sorry but the lad just isn’t good enough not just for Everton, but any prem or championship team. If we played the team he was playing for every single one of us would be saying we have to target him all game because we will get so much joy from it. It’s the truth
Read my post
He has done superb filling a gap
He has shown promise
He is still young and learning

I have never said he was the next Maldini, but he could become a very good fullback in time

Read it.. He’s not done superb filling a gap. If you think he’s been superb in that respect then so has Cuco Martina..
He’s not shown promise as he has no positive attributes, I’d at least expect him him to have pace or an ability to cross a ball, some others I’d forgive him due to his age.
As for becoming a good full back in the future he lacks too many basics. Simple as that

He's been a positive overall this season. But what has been baffling this season is the high number of times we've seen individual performances so poor they are barely believable. Today Kenny put in one of those. Yes our management situation has been a complete farce, but it's hard to legislate for Martina redefining the meaning of gash on a weekly basis and other embarassing individual displays like John Joe today.

I'm with you here mate. Watching him charge forward beyond Lennon as Son just waited for him to be out of position time after time showed a player with nowhere near the game sense to play at the top level. It was embarrassingly bad

I dunno. Maybes it's just me. But he appears to be extremely limited in possession, old school balls into the channels constantly giving up possession most of the time, maybes that's what koeman and Sam have told him to do. To me he is mediocre in defence. He was on a number of occasions today and on other occasions this season well behind the defensive line which causes so many problems and resulted in a goal against us today.

I realise the lad is 19 but he ain't showing any real promise of making it. Fundamental mistakes, lack of positional awareness and lack of technical ability all are vastly apparent. I hope he comes good but roll on Seamus's return
