Hi guys.

Besiktas fan here.

I read a few pages and can see that some of you have doubts.

Let me just put a things into perspective;

If Cenk Tosun was playing in a league like Germany, France, Holland etc his price tag will not be 23M believe me. Turkish league is still developing but Besiktas has been very good last few seasons we have a good board, manager and a transfer policy.

Cenk is a brilliant player i would say there are no real weaknesses but I couldn't say he is the best at this job. He is a all round complete striker. He can use both his feet, powerful shots, very good heading etc and his not static.

His moving from the best team in Turkey, where he is probably the best striker, a standout champions league performance where we are through to next round. Last two season title winner and number 1 national team striker. Last two seasons played exceptionally well both domestic and CL and a very good team player.

The argument in Turkey is why is he moving to Everton because the reality is if he continues this form and scores a couple against Bayern in CL his price can go up much further and potentially go to a bigger club (no disrespect to you).

If I were a Everton fan I would be very happy. Believe me his a top class striker. Turkish players are usually second citizen in the domestic league and big clubs favor foreign stars so to stay at a club like Besiktas for this many years and improve every year ( check stats) and eventually become best striker is believe me very very difficult. Cenk has achieved this by working very hard.

He will do well in PL he has a football mentality and good discipline ( German born and raised).

Be happy, you got a great player at a bargain :)

Cheers

No ‘bigger club’ is going to spend the money we are on an unproven player from the Turkish league mate, because we can’t attract any top players from decent leagues it seems.

So he’s gona have to come here and prove his worth, you are never going to get anymore than what we are paying.

For the record, saying YOUNG players are a mistake based on their first 6-12 months with the club is incredibly short sighted and most often wrong. Young players take time to develop, we would like to believe an 8 million signing can just walk onto the first team and play at a CL level, but its not going to be close in most cases. Case in point:

Coutinho.

How many years prior to him being a 100 million+ player did Liverpool buy him? If you think the answer is 1, you are very very wrong.
It was 6 months. The next season they almost won the league.
