Computer games.

Yo @Dylan I have this nagging idea to buy Elite Dangerous.

Worth it if your not a trekkie?

I have never been a trekkie, and I love it. Been playing since 2014 and still log 4-5 hours a week easy (it is my most played game now, probably over 1000 hours in it - a lot for me....rookie numbers for some people though...)

The great thing is, if you come into the game now, it has almost been all sorted in terms of bugs and finessing core gameplay. They are now ramping up the narrative in the game, which is great.

You can play in open with everyone, setup a private group for you and the mates, or go solo where there are no other human players - just you and the AI.

The sound design is fantastic, the visuals are stunning, and a full Newtonian flight model (with some limitations for fun reasons).

Don't be mistaken though, the game doesn't hold your hand. After the training missions you are left to your own devices. There are plenty of people who will give new players a hand though, I would check out the sub-reddits for Elite on PS4 and the Elite Wings sub for people looking to form a wing and go shoot stuff.

One of the big complaints is it is hard to find stuff in-game, and having to resort to using some (excellent) 3rd party apps to get the most out of the game. Frontier recognize this and in the next round of updates are introducing stuff into the game to make it less reliant on out of game sources.

Have seen some people playing this, but not blown away tbh. Does it do anything different from other rts/td games?

Focus on defense first as a strategy with cautious expansion. So a really clever medley of TD and RTS that looks well executed.

Impressed by what I'm seeing of it but it's early access and I haven't bought it yet personally, just watched streams. The others I listed I do own though.

I'm prob gonna pick it up aswell. Can't go wrong for a fiver can you?

I've got an emulator and am working my way through the retro Sonic the Hedgehog games. I'd forgotten just how evil Sonic 1 is. There's no spin dashes, the Special Stages make me feel sick and I've never been able to get a Chaos Emerald, and the Marble Zone is a godforsaken lava-soaked hellhole and it's only the second level. I've managed to get all the Chaos Emeralds on Sonic 2 (both versions), Sonic Chaos and Sonic 3 & Knuckles, though.

Sonic Generations looks fun. Sonic Heroes is apparently rubbish.

I’m bored and saw this on Twitter so....

If you could have a sequel or another in the series of any game what would it be?

I’d say a new Skate game. But done about 48 times better than the latest Tony Hawk game!

Oh and another Monkey Island.

Well I did get it, so I guess I could! What recording software do you recommend?
It was more a lame joke to prepare yourself for a difficult first few landings until you get the hang of it.....

For PC...obs or the respective Nvidia/amd software that comes with the card drivers these days. For PS4 I have no idea
