So no news then ?

DCL it is then tomorrow night

We're playing Friday, like.

But even so, I don't think Tosun would change the derby outcome either way.

All that would ultimately happen is he'll get 5 minutes and look way off the pace as he'd be coming to a side low on confidence and no attacking quality. Cue fans writing him off and slating him as the worst-ever signing.

I disagree. Guardiola rates van djik highly, you only have to listen to his comments last week when he signed for the RS. I think they didn’t want to get in a bidding war with the RS, as I’m sure they are focusing their attentions on Sanchez and subsequent 400k a week wages.
But I agree with you regarding Alderweireld, I think he’s the best centre half in the league.

Alderweireld, Stones, Chriistensen, Vertonghen, Bailey are all better cb's than him comfortably IMO mate. 3 of those also a lot younger -3-4 years so.

Kompany - when fit, is a much better player, on recent form so is Ottamendi now he seems to have adjusted to Guardiolas system, I'd actually say VVD is on a par with a player the rs froze out due to Klopp not getting on with him personally in Sahko

VVD is better than Sakho, mate.

Stones, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Otamendi - agree I think those few are all better. Kompany is the best CB in the league when he's fit, but that's the issue, he hardly ever is.

But let's not pretend VVD isn't a class act.

His injury and lack of arsedness hasn't seen him perform this season, but he's got all the attributes that make a good defender. His main issue is his tendency to switch off - a bit like Keane. Now, a good manager irons that out, but I don't think Klopp is the right manager to iron out those defensive issues.

But he's a good player who has pace and power and strength so will improve them. He's also brilliant on the ball.

Guardiola did want him. City thought they had him, in fact, and were going to be paying a heck of a lot to do so. L'Pool crapped themselves and offered about £15m more than City.

EDIT: Cenk

Would much rather Moussa Dembele, no doubt we'll sign this bloke who wont score in a brothel whilst a Southampton/Burnley/Watford take a punt on Dembele who ends up banging in 15 goals a season for probably less cash/wage.

Having never seen cenk play, I can say with a degree of confidence I'd rather him than dembele whom I've seen on numerous occasions. He's awful. I get the feeling those who keep beating this drum haven't seen him play much or at all and have bought the Celtic PR drive. He's shown himself to be mediocre in Scotland at best.
