I won't say he changed the game last night, but he was a huge improvement on Schneiderlin in midfield. Well done Tom. I think he needs to start against Chelsea.

Pickford / Kenny Holgate Williams Martina / Gueye Rooney Davies / Lennon Sigurdsson / DCL

4-3-2-1

You mention the word RUN a lot - he is much more of a player than that also Snides can't run so thats a big difference changed the game last night!
Tom was involved in two of our goals !

bollox, his quick forward passing is something none of our other midfielders can do which helped created siggys goal last night.

I don't disagree that he made a difference. I suspect Sam will use him as the game changer more often. He's a safety first sort of manager and I think he'll go compact and protective with two CDMs before making the changes late on. Marathon not a sprint approach.

Dangerous approach. Playing 2 CDMs last night invited Swansea to attack. Against a better team the game would have been gone by the time Davies came on.

It was pretty bad for me to hear Allardyce wanted to bring on Davies "to have us attack more as opposed to using Morgan who is much more defensive". That's a terrible mindset to go into a game at home against bottom of the league.

Loses the ball too easily and then goes down too easily. The reason he loses the ball is because he doesn't' t lay it quick enough and gets caught in possession. This period in his development is a big test, as Allardyce won't have him in the squad, never mind the starting eleven, if he gives the ball away too easily. It's up to him and I for one hope he game's heed of all the advice as his enthusiasm for wanting to play for us is infectious.

hes doesnt seem to bothered about rooney and gueye giving it away all game

Even worse than that is the fact we had four defenders and two defensive midfielders and were being smashed by Swansea and rightfully went a goal down. Not the first time it's happened, either.

Made the difference last night. Every time Schneiderlin received the ball from Williams or Holgate he was looking to pass it back to the other one. Davies was getting the ball, turning, and trying to make something happen.

For me it's about playing securely, trusting the attacking players in the team and then having the option to change it. We got it to 1-1 and then went for it, instead of starting attacking, losing a couple of goals and then only having defensive players to bring on to change the game.

Makes sense to me our current game plan.

Depends on the opposition. You have to imagine at home against by far the worst side in the league, low on confidence, you have to attack them and let their heads drop asap. That's just my opinion though. You can't always rely on penalties to get you back into games.

Our midfield is pretty short without Schniederlin so I cant Davies getting many starts unless it's in place of Rooney or Gueye. Plays better from the bench for me anyways.
