Joe Royle.

I'm not sure Allardyce et al would be the reason for this. I'd hazard a guess and say Royle is a casualty of a culling of influential people inside and outside the club by Moshiri too closely aligned to the past.

The sort of change that sees a man of the stature of Royle leaving the club is change we dont need.

I'm not so sure Re Sam to be honest mate. He has a lot of people he wants to bring in and they may well leave Royle's role redundant.

On second reading though, it looks like a power play. Royle seems like Kenwrights man.

Big Joe doesn't want to work with an Elf who drinks his own slash and a biff who has an ego larger than Birkenhead.
Elstone is likely the next one to 'move in amicably'....

I think it was where you said -
The man is a club legend in the truest sense (not like Kenwright who thinks he is) and does deserve some preferential treatment.

Ah ok, I'm not sure it's having a pop at him, to me he't as much of a legend as Big Joe though.

Will await conformation.

Former Everton manager Joe Royle has left his role as part of the club's backroom staff.

The 68-year-old, who also played for the Toffees, brought the Merseysiders their last trophy success with the 1995 FA Cup.

His decision comes just a week after Sam Allardyce was named as the club's new manager.

Royle left as Everton manager in 1997 but re-joined the clubto help develop young players in July 2014.

Royle stepped in to prepare the Everton team for the final game of the 2015/16 season alongside former player David Unsworth after Roberto Martinez was sacked that May.

Unsworth was appointed caretaker manager earlier this season after Martinez's replacement, Ronald Koeman, was sacked in October with the club 18th in the Premier League.

The 44-year-old former defender returned to his job as under-23s coach when Allardyce was appointed as permanent manager following a 2-0 win over West Ham at Goodison Park last week.

Royle, who scored 95 goals in 190 appearances as a striker for the Toffees between 1967 and 1971, had been responsible for overseeing youth development alongside Unsworth.

He made his own debut for the club as a 16-year-old.

The former England striker's role at Goodison was to help young players from Everton's Academy and Under-23 set-up progress to the first team, and assist with scouting and recruitment.

For a manager on an 18mth contract, there seems to be a lot of faith and money about to be given over to the 'new project'.
So, it is a power play, or Moshiri has more 'money is no object' to bring, that it doesn't matter what contracts get paid up.

Am expecting some other moves in the backroom and boardroom very soon - heard about Joe at the match at the weekend, think there is going to be a little bit of a sweep coming up...

Fingers crossed Elstone is part of it like I was told.

We've I had a pop at mate?

You said Kenwright was an Everton legend in his own mind for some reason when there is no indication that he thinks anything of the sort. It was just a really weird random pop at him.

Well of course not, I wouldn't have Kenwright down as a legend at all. But I don't think Kenwright has himself down as one either!

There was a lot of talk when moshiri came in that once everything was approved regarding the new stadium then he would acquire the rest of kenwrights etc shares. Could it be that this sweep/cull that’s coming this week of boardroom and backroom staff could be as a consequence of the stadium being formally announced very soon and moshiri and his team are getting things done quickly in readiness for that
