Player Valuation: £60m
I actually loved him as a player, even when he was playing for United. There's a reason why their fans were ecstatic when they got rid of him this summer though. He's been stinking the place out for two years now.
There's no role for him in this team. Impact player from the bench is a possibility I guess but even then I think there are better options.
They're not a unit. Playing individually, and playing badly. Where's the leader. Who is taking charge, barking orders. Surely Jags has a voice. He's the captain after all.
In despair with this shower.

Feel really sorry for Unsworth ..put in a horrible situation and now people calling for his head .. I don’t think any manager can get good out our current gutless lazy squad and we need to somehow get to January and get rid of the worst offenders williams , snides , Mirallas and sorry but Baines as well and try and start again .. didn’t think until today we were relegation material but after today we really are and we need a manager this week without fail ... worried !

His problem is too many poor starting selections. Then you get an unfortunate injury to Baines (which he bizarrely wasted on Williams) & you’ve only 2 substitutions left.
Let’s just hope he learns & picks the right team on Wednesday.

Player Valuation: £70m
DLC may well disappear into oblivion or Sunderland (whichever is worse). He should be coming on for 10-15 minute cameos at the end of dead rubbers and allowed to play with freedom not to lead the line from the start in front of half a dozen number 10s who seemingly forgot about the creative side of being a number 10. But needs must - another one to miss his opportunity, a bit like Unsworth.
I dunno. If any of the cross were prepared to fight and enforce their will on to matters then perhaps I wouldn't have to be making up excuses for them. But for now there's too much wrong to throw the baby out with the bathwater. The youngsters get a second chance for me because they have time to develop into hopefully better and stronger players.
Anyway back on topic, I can't see Unsworth as gaffer ever after this. His chance was compromised by weak minded players and a perfidious board, but he took a shot and failed. I don't blame him for that but he's blown it. I think he was doing good work with the U23s. Hopefully he has learnt a lot from the last 5 weeks and uses this to get better whether he goes back to the U23s or decides to chance his arm elsewhere.
Even if he picks the 'right' team on paper, in practice they've got to work very hard, and harder than they have so far. Put in the effort with the organisation and that would be a start. There's no team work or leadership. Playing as individuals and playing badly.

We're a sorry mess at the moment but strategies could have been put in place to improve things. What work has Unsworth done defensively? I think we all know the answer to that. His naivety to believe he could come on and transform our fortunes by playing on the front foot have been his downfall.

I know mate but he no players. Our whole back line is a mess and a joke. Kenny the only one today who seemed to care ...until we get that sorted we are just going to be disappointed every match !
