David Unsworth - Temporary Manager

He seems competent and hungry. Not exactly a glowing assessment, but we have to roll the dice on the next manager. We can bring in safe hands for the next couple of years and finish 7th all the time, or go for a man who has a bit about him but is relatively unproven. We need to find another Poch really. No idea if Silva is that, but I know Alldardyce and Dyche aren't.
Absolutely spot on mate!!

Love the way he said he will pick a team to win [probably not full] tomorrow, when the game means nothing in us getting through, when the last 2 times koeman and unsworth have picked understrength teams for games that had we won, we would have had chance to get through the group

This idea that we’ll finish 7th almost at will.
Well this will be the third time in 4 years that we miss 7th. Newcastle are being taken over and there are other decent sides with competent managers (Leicester, Southampton, Watford!) as well. We need a very good manager to get this current squad anywhere near 7th.

I was sort of using 7th as a metaphor for general midtable mediocrity, but I agree with you yes.

So basically he can't play youngsters tomorrow because he's still under 'interview' so he has to play a normal team.

Either way we'll look silly again and do his rep no good.

I agree. Be damned with experience yada yada hoochie mama and take a risk. We won't reach the heights with a safe manager.
