David Unsworth - Temporary Manager

I don't agree but that's the great thing about football we've all got different opinions. What we need is a time machine so we can see who's right and sort it all out lol
Very true. However I have no confidence in Unsworth. Without the massive chunks of luck we have received in the last two games our situation would be far worse, and it's bad enough as it is. It may be this group of players may be irreparable and we are doomed for the drop whoever takes over. I cannot see us strengthening appreciably in January ,fighting relegation and with the little known youth coach in charge either. All in all I'm very pessimistic of our future under Unsworth and would be much happier if we appointed a more experienced manager.

He was resting players against Lyon. I agreed with that.

He started a must win game with no centre forward on the pitch. It was an insult to the 1000's of supporters who'd spent their hard earned cash going over there to watch.

Why would you fight to get in to European completion all season to toss it all away without putting up a fight? He then comes out with his usual tripe about expecting to win every game. I'm sorry but he didn't try to win that one.

Sorry mate but I totally disagree with you on this.

The Watford game was more important. We’re better off out of Europe this season, the squad isn’t ready for it. It wasn’t Unsworth’s fault we didn’t register our only senior CF.

Ultimately just excuses to cover up failure, plain and simple. Perhaps the more accurate way of looking at it was Unsworth considered the Watford game more important to his immediate future and selected his team accordingly.

He started with Calvert-Lewin on the bench for Lyon & Watford. Also had Mirallas on the bench who could've done a job up front. Then he had Sandro who wasn't even in the squad. No excuses for his selection whatsoever.

The fact he's had to make changes at half time in most, if not all of his games suggests to me that he hasn't got a clue what his best team/formation is.

The man's out of his depth.

We needed to rotate for the good of the team. Do you think you are more important than Everton?
DCL didnt start against Watford mate. Gylfi did. Rotation argument is null. Poor selection against Lyon.

Could have had a front 3 of Sandro, DCL and Mirallas. If we lose 3-0 then, players can be subsequently be blamed. Instead he started a out of form dead all specialist up front.

Koeman had the same issue with this squad. When we’re not playing well would you prefer us not to make changes?

Without me and the thousands who travel to games like Lyon and give their support every week there would BE no Everton. But I realise you are right and this manager was incapable of selecting or motivating a side to win a match that would have given us a fighting chance of remaining in the Europa and a side to win what was one of the luckiest victories I have ever seen us achieve. Which is why we need a much better manager.

Alex Ferguson/Mourinho/Guardiola couldn’t have done much better with this squad within a week.

Strange that you think everything is Unsworth’s fault despite the players form before he arrived.

Depends which way you're looking at it really. I think a lot of fans are way over the top in their support of Unsworth.

I've been at all games under Unsworth's management and in my opinion there has been zero improvement. We've been very lucky to come away with points in the past two games and the team selection and performances against Leicester and Lyon were abysmal. Lyon in particular was a disgrace.

He's way out of his depth and the board need to act quickly. Leaving him in charge for an extended period is a very dangerous game.

Anyone seeing improvement is watching different games to me. Koeman got hammered by the top tier teams but generally we were at least competitive in all of the other games, even if the football was grim.

Saturday's performance was nothing to write home about. In fact it did more to raise the warning signs than quell them.
