We don't have any of those I'm afraid.

I can't accept that just now.

Last season Sandro scored 15 in La Liga for a struggling side.
Last season Klaassen scored 20 from midfield for Ajax, I can accept the Dutch league isn't great, but to score 20 from midfield and get to the EL final was a very decent season.
Gylfi had 14 assists and 9 goals in the PL which was pretty much double everything Ross Barkley had for us, who is considered our best attacking midfielder.

So sorry, doesn't wash for me that.

He won the penalty that won us the game and had another one wrongly not given. How many games has he played and what exactly have any of the rest done with their time on the pitch?

You do realise he played Williams against Lyon because Jags and Keane were his first choice for the more important game in the league and perhaps that is also why he gave Williams the armband.

Fair enough he won the pen against Watford but it was down to the defender slipping then lennon doing anything spectacular ( not taking it away from him like ) and wasn't very good in any other game ( you mention Leicester yet was dragged of at HT )

and yes I do realise why Williams plays, I didn't say he shouldn't have played that game I made a point that he was captain

it's obvious 99% of the fan base dislike the man for how bad he is, yet he doesn't lead by example because he is a walking error the fact he captained us was a bit silly

Whether it's right or wrong, the one who Klaassen has to impress (and he's hardly done it when he has played) is Unsworth, and he obviously isn't. I still think Klaassen should be at least on the bench though, and be given some game time because his confidence must be shot.

I get the feeling with unsworth he knows his squad before the training has even taken place, said on another post he seems to have early favourites and someone like klaasan/sandro/vlasic are easy people to leave out because they are new

That's my biggest worry about Unsworth if he got the job till the end of the season. I just have this feeling that some players won't be given a fair crack of the whip because they don't put a big enough shift in for Him in his eyes, and I would imagine the dressing room is fragile enough as it is, I don't see Unsworth as the type of manager to fix that.

Sandro I'll give you, there is clearly a good player in there, but regardless of numbers that are skewed by terrible quality of league and set pieces in a relegation battling team, there is no visual evidence to suggest the other two are better than average.

Completely alienated by Unsy with him drafting in that Beni lad.
A decent, not world beating, player is Klaassen. Comes over, struggled with the physicality as lots do- took Lamela an age but was beginning to show real quality before his terrible injury.
We get a new manager in and, whilst I like Unsworth, he is thrown out of the squad altogether for a kid who has literally done nothing to warrant the care and attention over Klaassen.
Same with Sandro. These lads need looking after, not humiliated because they are struggling to acclimatise.
Big PR stunt from Unsworth. One that wasn't needed.

Still believe there is a very good player in there somewhere! Koeman made the whole squad look dreadful so I'm blaming him

Lennon was dragged off because we changed our shape. Mirallas was too.

I don't think 99% of the fan base dislike Williams just a few vocal people. I think the majority of the fan base think he isn't good enough but that's different than not liking them. I think Williams is trying but he's older now and perhaps was always just over rated but he is one of the senior players and a captain of his country. There was no better choice for that game.

well we'll have to agree to disagree about lennon, I don't think he's very good and have other options who I'd rather see infront of him

in regards to Williams, i don't dislike players who aren't good enough normally but i do actually dislike Williams, but that stems back from when he was at Swansea, just think he is a bad plant pot

i can see WHY he was made captain against Lyon, ( captains wales etc ) but for me being captain should be earnt by performances on the pitch, something he is badly let down by

Christ knows what Koeman & Walsh saw in Williams, beggars belief !!

Williams had a great last season for Swansea, had done well at the euros and seemed a steady purchase at the time. We can all be wise after the event, but lets not go daft!

The fact that he has turned into the centre half equivalent of Charlie Chester is more down to bad management and the form of the side in general IMO.

..I wondered if Baines might have a like minded left side partner in Wayne Rooney but that failed miserably against Watford because Rooney simply didn’t have the legs to match the full back on that side. It left us vulnerable. Perhaps Klaassen is worth a try out there to give Baines some protection and also provide link play.

Thought this myself tbh
