However despite the seriousness of our current position, I doubt the hierarchy feel the need to go to that defcon level just yet.
My guess is David Unsworth is purely an interim appointment and is fully aware of that while they're looking elsewhere.

Mr Moshiri will be only too aware that his first choice of Koeman last time out turned out badly, methinks he'll be a bit more circumspect this time around and will be considering more than one option.
Within the next fortnight might be the right timescale, but I doubt it will be Sam Allardyce.

The thing is does he have time to be circumspect? You've said within the next fortnight is realistic, but that gives him almost no time at all to pull the trigger on what is available.

And if not Sam then who? Assuming Tuchel and Ancelotti are non starters then what? Dyche, Coleman? These people are potentially available but are they any more attractive to the fanbase than Allardyce - I would say not.

You don't get to be as rich as Moshiri without having total conviction in your own opinion mate, the next choice will 100% be his ultimately

It's only my gut feeling mate and based on experience and knowledge of head coach recruiting from a previous life in a different sport, my guess is that feelers would have been put out before Koeman got the axe.

Any responsible and forward thinking GM (bear in mind that Moshiri isn't actually on the BoD, so given it's largely his financial muscle) constantly reviews the market place in the event that a change becomes necessary. Clubs employ scouts to look for players, club management should do exactly the same for head coaches/managers.

I think it all hinges on whether the “we’re going down” thing is just a gross overreaction by the fan base or actually becomes a possibility. Time will tell

I doubt if they put any feelers out, if Koeman had won instead of lost his last 2 games he would still be in a job today - those 2 results in the space of 4 days showed him the door. There was simply no time to put out 'feelers' given the time frames involved.
