Next season, he has to show that level of progress, but not this season. Martinez got another season after being a disaster in his second, so I'm not sure why Koeman wouldn't be given the same opportunity by not being a disaster.

I'd normally agree but surely the reason we've spend vastly on proven PL talent is to remove the settling in / gelling period? If we are going to wait we might as well have signed better value players and given them a season to get experienced?

So can you improve a team through gross spending, as I was under the impression that the only way to challenge the top teams was via a season on season high net spend?

Not quite that easy but I agree to some extent.

Even with the new players I still see 6 other squads stronger with ours currently.
 
Realistic dream- 5th, and win Europa.

Reality likely: 6-7th, no cups, no europa win.

Domestic cups are a bit meh these days (until they give a champ league spot to FA cup winner), so i hope we prioritize our best players for Europa & Prem .

Next summer Man United buy Gueye and give us a 36 year old Carrick plus 30 million (after we demand 70m).

No I won't, how about that? :p So here's mine.

- Keane or Gueye to be club POTS
- Pickford a regular bench warmer for England or in the sticks for friendlies (it's a start!)
- Klaassen to be our surprise package in Europe
- EFL cup final. Has to happen one day, but we'll lose on a snidicality
- Split fans to continue being arpseholes after they bomb out of Europe

Looking pretty good on this so far. Anybody else's forecasts coming true?
 

We're gonna be in a relegation battle within 2 weeks ... can you imagine us November after Leicester still in this position? It'll get worse if he's still here lucky if we hit 45 points this season.
