I thought Walsh was supposed to be bringing in the obscure signings? The likes of Onyekuru and Gueye are the ones we should judge him on. The likes of Rooney, Sigurdsson, Keane and Pickford are more obvious signings, ones that don't exactly need unearthing. I might be mistaken about the role he's playing though.

The more you look at this squad, the holes in it, the lack of balance, the pace of it, the age of it. You have to lay that at the door of the director of football.

No left back cover - the manager ofc has sent all who could play there on loan
Martina as right back - because the manager wanted him and has basically frozen out the best young right back in the under 23/21 England set up
No width - well mainly because we have ostracised then sold any wide players we had and ones we have now we don't even put on the bench in Lookman, Mirallas, Lennon etc
No creativity in the centre and no tempo - because the manger chooses to play two holding midfielders every single game and it causes the problem
No width - because we play no wingers and thus the fullbacks cant get forward as they are isolated with nowhere to go when they do go forward
Playing so deep and shaky at the back - because we wont play Holgate at centre back and insist on playing Keane with a player with no legs and pace - so have to play deep

Lack of pace

Looking at the squad we have Coleman injured, Bolasie - injured, Barkley - effectively pushed out the club by the manager, Del - was pushed out the club, Lennon - nowhere to be seen, Lookman - nowhere to be seen. Kenny is far from slow - again nowhere to be seen. Hell even Niasse who i am the worst critic of had pace at least and was ostracised yet again by the manager.

Age if the squad, yeah it looks bad because we have a manager who won't or doesn't want to play the younger options.

The problems besides for a striker are directly at the door of the manager, not to say that we don't have balance and option issues, but when the manager goes to the extreme the way Koeman does then it magnifies any small problems into major ones

I totally agree, if you think about it every problem you list wasn't such a big problem at the beginning of last season.

yup, even the striker issue we have atm, can tell you now, stick Lukaku into this team the way we are playing and setting up the system, we would at best be a couple of points better off, and the performances would be minimal if at all better.

Not really. To me they are both at fault so both should go.

Depends mate, you can have the absolutely best DoF in the world who buys brilliant players, but if the manager is a total moon headed spoon who uses them wrong or even worse ignores them then how can you hold the dof responsible then?

A dof for me can only be judged over a 2-3 manager period of time mate.

Look at the players not being featured, you reckon that Walsh wasn't the one bringing them in, you think he wouldn't have wanted barkley, kenny et al

For me you change this manger, then you see what the next bloke does with this group and in his first chance to add to it, then you can judge walsh

I'm be content giving him a short period under a new manager to see how he goes. But it's clear he can't work with Koeman so one of them has to go. Clearly I'd prefer Koeman to go but this club are a joke and probably have no intention of a sacking

The big mistake was appointing him after Koeman. He should've come in first and had a role in hiring the manager. Him coming in after was always going to be a recipe for disaster.
