I actually think he's good. Reminds me of Pienaar a bit, just needs time to adapt.

In what way is he similar to Pienaar? Do you mean like Williams is similar to a now retired and past it Baresi?

If he does play it shouldnt be as a number 10. Hes not a number 10 for me. Should play where davies does. Its just hes not good enough to play there atm. Think he will get there and i do rate him. linked up well with rooney in the early games and has been involved in build up play and assisting the assister. Unlike some would, i think him competing with davies would be a good thing for davies to push him week in week out and to play at there highest level or they are on the bench. More competetion the better imo. Same with rooney or siggy for number 10 and martina and kenny ar right back

Almost everyone here said he would compete with Davies, however Klaassen is an inferior player so why sign him?

I also cant see any way to advocate Cuco competing for anything...hes on a 3 year deal though thanks to Koeman.

He was brilliant for Ajax, surely he's not gone rubbish over night?

Did you read that he was 'brilliant for Ajax' or did you watch him play ?

I saw Ajax a fair few games last season;

Sanchez and Dolberg were brilliant
De Ligt is potentially brilliant

I don't see how Klaassen would be classed as 'brilliant'?

I've seen them mate. But if he doesn't fancy Barkley, or any player for that matter, he doesn't fancy them.

We don't know that he'd put his arm around Barkley anymore then we know he'd sell him in January.
agree but a deffo positive is if Rk stays ross is deffo going and TBH hes better than most other midfielders we have ATM!

One would ask if RK was not there would Ross sign his contract under a new manager after talks - Then Klassen would be surplus to requirement anyway he is not even getting chosen first now?
I have a feeling Barkley could well be open to staying if Koeman goes that's another good reason for us to get Koeman gone. Then I suppose it would just be up to the new manager to judge Klaassen. It's un fair judging most of our players ATM as some are being played out of position some aren't playing at all and confidence is very low, they all look very us happy, except Niasse he just looks over the moon to be playing. Everton just looks a depressed tean as a whole at the moment.

As a Dutchman and Ajax-supporter, my opinion is that Davy isn't brilliant and that actually very few Ajax-fans think he is brilliant. He is just a humble, hardworking and rather intelligent lad whose main strengths are his mentality, stamina, his runs inside the box and his finishing abilities. His leadership is often quoted, but keep in mind that this concerns his situation at Ajax with mostly guys who are below 22 years of age. I don't expect him to boss Rooney around anytime soon.

Davy always has had a lot of critics, even at Ajax. Yes, he often manages to put his name on the scoresheet, but his contribution to the team play was often negligible. He does put in effort to recover the ball but further prefers to be the end station of attack, rather than creating chances. He is often mocked as "Siem 2.0", of course referring to Siem de Jong for their comparable styles of play. I prefer Klaassen, but not by that wide a margin.

I like Davy, but I think it will be hard to become a star at Everton with his abilites. A useful player might still be a possibility.
