Farhad Moshiri: Ronald Koeman Statement

I feel like you think that's proving a point somehow but i'm not sure what it is? I appreciate that you were talking about the league, but I was attempting to show you that this isn't just 7 game run, and therefore we have enough data to suggest that finishing 16th is absolutely not out of the question, because our form has now been poor for a prolonged period of time. I don't think we will, because if this goes on much longer i'm sure we'll make a change, but don't underestimate just how we poor at the moment. No away wins for 10 months is very very bad in its own right - when you start losing at home to the likes of Burnley aswell it becomes a full blown crisis.

To keep this on topic, the idea that we seemingly 'expect' to lose a minimum of 5 more home games when we come up against the fabled top 6, allied to our truly abysmal away form is a genuine recipe for disaster.
"When you start losing at home to the likes of Burnley aswell it becomes a full blown crisis".That would be the same Burnley that beat the reigning league champions at their place.drew with them across the park at their place?.You are being massively insulting to Burnley. We as a club at present are no better or no worse than them,a one time big club with a huge history we maybe but at present we are in a period of transition, which may take all season before we see a massive improvement, sometimes things have to get worse before they get better.

Oh god, not this drivel again.

Sometimes things have to get worse before they get better, yes. They've got worse though haven't though haven't they? 30 years ago we were champions, it's been downhill since. 4 years ago we were 5th, we've had 3 worse seasons since. Can we PLEASE give it a rest with the 'you're not being patient enough' shouts?

There's absolutely nothing disrespectful to Burnley in what I said. Firstly you've taken it completely out of context. The point was that if you don't win away - which we don't, ever - and you lose at home to sides who you wouldn't expect to finish above you, then you're in trouble. Burnley haven't finished above us in the league for about 50 years, they finished 21 points behind us last year and since then we've spent £140m to their £40m. If they're no worse than us now then the manager definitely needs sacking.

If your worst enemy had chosen to write a script of how the first few months of the season were to roll out for you this is what it would have looked like.

Terrible leadership on and off the pitch, unacceptable results and performances that are then described as acceptable by the club itself.

It's a crisis. Make no mistake about that.
I rarely reply, but that makes a bit of sense

Didnt I hear some stat before the KO that Burnley have not won at Goodson since the Seventies!

I am sure some Statto can help with the real facts...

Losing to Burnley was disappointing, but this is a side that comfortably beat the champions and nearly won at Anfield.

Beating sides like Burnley is hard when you're in a rut, and the main reason we're in a rut is because the fixture computer was unkind to us.

1976 but it is one of those “stats” to be filed under “lies, damned lies and statistics” because it tells no tale.

They were relegated that season (yip....we lost at home to a relegated team, a feature in that era because the season before relegated Carlilse won at The Park and cost us the Title )

Burnley never came back up for about thirty odd years and have yo-yoed between the top two divisions ever since.

I think this was only the fourth time we have played them at home since they last won here in 1976 :(

I like it when people turn ‘facts’ into ‘lies’ and vice versa. I find it particularly inventive and annoying at the same time.

You are correct we are measuring our transition based on epochs just like evolution and the freakin’ dinosaurs. We find ourselves in Koemanassic period or is it the Nikvlassic?

Late amendment to Moshiri's statement...

"These are early days and Koeman has my total support. We have great fans and they deserve better. We know the honest and objective expectations of our supporters and will not let them down...in the meantime we'd like to wish Ronald a great holiday this week in Majorca and Barcelona. It'll do him the world of good getting away from the remaining squad members left behind away from international duty and we're sure he's left competent people back here in charge while he soaks up some well earned rays and feasts himself on local produce".

Yours, your humble majority share-owner, Farhad Moshiri.

Ronald Koeman has landed at Barcelona airport El Prat

Very apt.

We should have beaten Burnley.

But we didn't. They're a settled, well-drilled side who play to their strengths and have confidence from three impressive away results.

We're a side that, at the moment, don't have a way of playing and a chronic lack of confidence.

They played well and apart from a positive opening 20 minutes, we didn't do anything of note to deserve anything from the game.

That's pretty much what it boils down to.
