2017/18 Davy Klaassen

I agree, for me Davies has got to start the league games over Klaassen, with Klaassen being used a sub until he adjusts better. We're getting bullied all over the park with him starting games.

Hopefully you're right re the comparison to Mkhitaryan last season in terms of adjustment, but I suspect Mkhitaryan had less trouble adjusting (albeit, it's early days for Klaassen).

In fairness mate, Mkhitaryan played - I think - one PL game and a handful of Europa/Cup games prior to Christmas.

Come December there were a lot of stories that he may even be sold/wanted out.

Lo and behold, he was put into the team and not only took his chance, but looked twice the player he did in August.

Sometimes they do just need time. And it's not even gametime. It's training. Fitness work etc. And then the gametime comes in Europa, Cups and with sub appearances.

That's to me where RK has gone wrong with Sandro and Klaassen, albeit with Sandro the lack of striker kind of forced his hand.

Think he should start just behind the strikers in a 4-4-2 on Thursday night with Davies also playing off him. Give him the role & responsibility he had at Ajax.

Don't know. Compared to how Niasse are also starting a new, he does seem a bit slow, klassen that is.
Same goes for Gylfi.

however he did make a fine apperence against Sunderland

Would like to see him start next to Gueye against Burnley.

They play 2 in midfield so it won't be as congested for him and I would think he can play with a bit more imagination than the out of form Schneiderlin.

I honestly didn't see him enough for Ajax to know exactly what it is he does or brings to the table. He's shown a few neat touches here and there but has largely been anonymous for large chunks of the game.

Not writing him off yet becsuse it takes time to settle down, I do wonder though what was in Koemans mind and where he thought he would fit him, Gylfi and Rooney into the same system. Would have been even more interesting if Ross turned round and decided to stay as well!

I can forgive him having a bad game, but he just has no game so far at all. He has less touches and is less involved than every other player on the pitch, in every game he plays. I am sure he will come good eventually but I just don't understand why it passes him by so much. I would rather he had more of the ball and even made mistakes than not get the ball at all. The most frustrating thing is the fact that when he does have touches, they all seem to be nice passes or nice little one two's.

Koeman is clearly playing him more to try and get him up to speed quicker, but I don't think he should be playing over Davies at the moment.

Think Rooney was a surprise they decided to get when he became available and they didn't alter plans adjusting for bringing him in, thus we end up overloaded and with three big names its gonna be hard to drop one, bloody mess really.
