Ronald Koeman discussion

He became a more rounded player under Koeman, the period from Christmas to probably a month before the end of the season was his most consistent spell in his time at us. He was definitely more influential to the way we played in that period then he ever was in a Martinez team. I also think that wasn't the way to go with him. He should have been coached to play to his strengths and improve his weaknesses, not just play him in a way that removes the chances for him to make those mistakes. It doesn't address the problem. Saying that I'm not a football manager and ex top level player. Maybe Koeman and the staff just don't think he is able to coach those errors out of him for whatever reason and so the best way to get what you want out of him is to play him how and where we did
I'm gonna drop this subject now although i don't agree with the abuse the lad seemed to attract spesh at home games if you have a season ticket you'll what i mean but at the end of the day no matter what the circumstances he shouldn't of refused to sign the contract and leave us in this position if he wants to leave fine but let us get the fee we deserve he's let us all down now let's move on and concentrate on the players who are committed to the shirt Siggy is a class act I'm sure he'll fill the void and preform a lot more consistent wanted him here for some time

This is why some fans are furious.

Koeman is most probably the reason he's leaving no need for the snide comments after every other game just because his doesn't approve of his running stats I'd rather have Barkley than Koeman just my opinion :coffee:
Is your emoji drinking an Irish coffee there? You'd rather keep Ross Shaft You Lot I'll Run Down My Contract Barkley? Blimey.

He is a delicate flower is our Ross. Like Koeman explained to him be afraid if you are not being talked about. Still reckon Koeman just answered questions honestly like he always does.
.

That isn't always a good thing.

Humans are complex things, we all differ in how we respond to critisism. I know I hate being publicly called out, I'd much rather a quiet word away from everyone else.

I used to have a boss who picked up on everything and made you feel like you were always in trouble, I hated working with him and quit as soon as I could.

That was ego driven macho bollocks, which is one of the reasons why Koeman's never going to be a top manager.

Exactly. And he wouldn't back down.

If you look at Wenger he's got Sanchez and Ozil on 12 months and Mustafi who wants to leave. Not once did he give them ultimatums and said they were for sale.

Anything being said or done is all behind closed doors.

Snide comments? He improved the lad because he needed improving. Seems strange that Allardyce, Hodgson and Warnock have had a say also. That's what managers do. Ross just needed to buckle down and work on his faults.

This is constantly on repeat but holds no substance in my opinion despite it seeming to be accepted as gospel.

I don't think Koeman has improved Barkley, if anything he's regressed. In Martinez's first season he was better than he was last year and he also managed to hold a place and play regularly for a better England team than the present one.

He's gone backwards and the tough love has had a negative effect as it will do with most modern day footballers, at all levels, within football clubs.

I'm starting to turn on Koeman the whole Barkley situation has cost us big time i think he should take a step back from transfer dealings let Walsh do his job
I honestly don't know what to make of this? If your seriously turning on Koeman based on this Barkley fiasco then that's ludicrous. The blame lies 100% with Ross and nobody else, I can think of a number of reasons to dislike Koeman and his management style (and I'm one of the people who think his time here will be good for the club) but he's not responsible for this at all.

Barkley has regressed season on season since 13-14 (the only truly great season he's ever had). The season just gone was a definite improvement on the previous two from Ross so If Koemans though love style management hasn't worked then Martinez's style of best mate manager routine was an even bigger failure. If both of those styles don't work then you have to start questioning if Ross is the problem rather then the managers styles.

opinions are what they are. We all do not agree with them.
