The Croatian situation

There's clear footage of a guy in a white tshirt punching a steward then jumping back into the crowds.

Tell your mate. Yeah. 'Heroic'.
He's not my mate fortunately. His elder brother is one of our best players but this lad only plays in the 3rd team - he's a loudmouth, bit of a homophobe, and despite being the child of Croatian migrants he's a One Nation anti-immigration meff as well.

FFS the Croats could have invaded the pitch and got at the Park End if they really wanted to. It was just gesturing from the moob gang fearing they could have took a few slaps if they encroached further. It was just a boxers weigh in stand off.....no intention no guts just a gesture to make themselves look tough.
Like an away end full of scrappy do's ( scoobies mate )

To be fair, that video of the England fan throwing a chair then getting headkicked down a flight of stairs made me laugh for about 3 hours straight.
Ha, that was a great one!
The sunglasses and hoodies said it all . Pre planned hooligans .
Sadly, yep.
Normal 'tradition' over here to go to games just to abuse black players, opposition fans and get in fights.

That what happened , nothing really bit of a surge , throwing things and a dozen or so div's on the pitch that thought better of doing anything when they realised they could if they wanted actually get at the park end , and one Everton fan made an effort to get on to them , all disappeared back were they came from.
Said last night in the match thread , I was taking to one of there journalist , who said we provoked them, she was by the way in the press gallery on the other side of the ground by the way while this was going on.
They just don't get it time has moved on here, fact is it's a different era, for us act like that here people think your a knob, and you will get caught , even buying a ticket they have your seat number, and contact details and CTV all over the place, same as town , hence no Everton fans going looking for them if they were remotely bothered to , because the odds are your door will get burst by the coppers and you will do time a few weeks later.
Simple fact if you want to really have a fight with English hooligans these days coming in a crew , all dressed the same insint the way to go about it, the cops are not daft or blind.
In a nutshell they come here parade around act like extras off a Danny dyer film and think they have a result, very brave as they will never be more than a few feet away from the cops , and miles away from actually meeting any English hooligans , they are a joke that why everyone by me in the park end were laughing at them.
Like I said in the other thread she said those going out there will have to be careful.

I sort of agree and disagree with you to be honest . In my opinion that wasn't all show , if it'd have properly kicked off they'd have been all over it , the dressing all the same and marching about is just the way they do it .

The repercussions is what's changed the experience of football , from making it more accessible and 'friendly ' to meaning a load of young Everton lads who are game have never seen anything like the Croats yesterday . In England in 2017 People can't behave like that in a ground as you say you'll get arrested , banned and probably sacked and nick . Those lads don't care , I'm fairly sure in Croatia the old bill aren't rounding up fans for footy trouble every few weeks. That's why a few years ago loads of lads would go to Italy for the same 'experience' and be confident the local coppers didn't want to get involved.

Like I say though I don't think they've come for show , for me that wasn't a load of wannabes like when West Brom turn up and think they're hard because they wear a stone island top and a cheeky north face snood , they looked like a load of lads who were happy to have a go .

Going by what some of their helmet fans was saying on here for the past week they will probably blame the "corrupt Croatian FA" for last night.

It's never their fault either the bad Kopite blerts

Mrs BR and I have booked a holiday in Croatia - Hrvatska - in October. Zadar, Dubrovnik, and Split are on the agenda.

I will do my best to make friends!!

I have been on hols there about 5 times and the people in Croatia are fabulously welcoming and very friendly. This is more about an excuse to fight (or look hard) than anything else. Personally I am in favour of them being banned from any european competition for a period of time, even if one season.

anyone know what kicked it all off? I read on twitter the Croatian papers have blamed us for throwing coins and bottles and taunting thier fans.

“We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry, and violence on many sides — on many sides.
Not all of those people were neo-Nazis, believe me. Not all of those people were white supremacists by any stretch. I think there is blame on both sides,” the president said in a combative exchange with reporters at Trump Tower in Manhattan. “You had a group on one side that was bad. You had a group on the other side that was also very violent. Nobody wants to say that. I’ll say it right now.”

EDITED: Sorry, wrong thread

Different times differnt cultures as you say , seen them in the escort after the game , they weren't all kids , lads at the back
were older skinhead types.
Good point you made about the younger fans not seening stuff like that I thought it was nothing really, as you say the younger fans aren't used to seeing it.
Like I said to the journalist , nothing will go on, there 30 yrs to late.
