I have Leonard Skinner's old phone number, LCAB. Swear. I used to get calls for Leonard until about ten years ago - my # used to belong to his real estate agency. Back in the day, Leonard was dean of boys over at Lee High here in Jax and used to stay on the boys @$$es about that "long hair" and bad attitude - we're talking late '60's, now. I went to school at the next HS over, and my wife went to school with some of them. After they spent the summer hanging out with the Allmans out at the Forest Inn, they came back as Lynyrd Skynyrd (a FU tribute to their tormentor, if there ever was one) and the rest, as they say, is history. My favorite Skynyrd tune will always be Gimme Three Steps. That's what Westside life was all about.
