What/where is this?

The track/ground level is raised to the first concourse above the lower tier, I don't know how this would be done, but if it can be, the stadium can be built as a football stadium and the track is the add-on rather than the other way around... all good, no?

Sorry if already mentioned, 28 pages is too much reading for me on a Friday night.
We'll very likely end up with a design similar to this that can be temporarily converted for CWG 2022, 2026 or any other future athletics event.
It def won't be like WH which is why I'd imagine Meiss is guaranteeing the stands will be as steep as possible.
It def will be a bowl with a gentle stand slope, as in your example, because there simply doesn't seem any other way to incorporate the size required.
We'll be told it's a supersonic space age design that intensely magnifies sound to intimate opponents and def not a bowl. That's good marketing.

It's going to be a football stadium first and foremost, not THE Olympic Park where I saw a game of football miles away from where I was sat not too long ago. If you think Goodison is always a bastion of fire and brimstone you are kidding yourself mate. My emotional answer is to your post is to say no, what on earth do you mean, of course not. But....the truth is

I've been at Goodison with crowds of 15,000 and below on too many occasions. It's cold and unforgiving, even in August. Watched crisp bags and plastic bags blown across the hallowed turf like some scene from a 60s Western. So, the romantic notion Goodison is always intimidating fortress has been burst by too many awful teams to make me sentimental. Yep, it can be a bear pit, you're right. Lost count of how many occasions I can hand on heart declare that in re net seasons. Night matches carry a premium on that count, but Norwich Reserves ran rings round us this year.

So if your first demand is atmosphere and intimidation, let the architect show us his vision first before dismissing any wider sporting usage. I haven't seen any plans yet but Meis has been a regular visitor to this City and is well versed in our history. The stadium doesn't build the atmosphere, it's the fans who go the game challenged by the opposition and their support for their club. Football isn't much different on the pitch but it has certainly changed off it. 12,000 at home in an ageing stadium doesn't intimidate many but a signature development in today's Premiership is certainly more appealing.

Just don't understand the opposition to something I haven't seen. Everton that.
I get the 'fans generate the atmosphere' line. However, certain facilities do lend themselves better than others to generating it more than others.

This is not an abstract discussion either. A 'tighter' more immediate proximity between pitch and stands transfers to winning more points.

You have a right to know all the inner workings of the club? What gives you that right? Are you an owner and we just don't know about it?
No, you're right. I'm just a lowly serf like you. I'm very sorry for wanting to rise above my station and ask impudent questions. Please dont inform the boss man.

It's more about the sound staying in the ground that I'm concerned about. The Emirates, for example, is really quiet even on the rare occasions when the gooners actually sing something. I'm certainly not an engineer but the gentle sloping stands and the giant open space over the pitch at that ground seems to swallow up the sound.

I'm concerned about that too. That's more about the tiers and if they overlap if more than one tier. Emirates is three tiers, far too many for the songs to travel. Two tiers should be maximum but for tiered stands you have to see if they overlap. The overlap is the acoustics for the lower. No overlap then the songs are an entire tier away from the roof.

Ideally though you want the singing to start directly under a proper roof so that would make the large single tier the better option.

Cool. Keep not answering the questions you're asked and instead deflect with aggression. You're not an employee Dave. You're not a shareholder. Everton Football Club is a company. I'll ask again. What gives you or anyone else the right to know everything that's happening? They'll share the stadium plans when the plans are at a point where they're able to. Same as every other stadium that's built elsewhere. I don't see how you can demand anything beyond that. They've done a nice job keeping the public apprised of the ongoing developments as they become available.

Conceptually, sure. Got any data to back that up? Genuinely curious.

Fair

There isn't going to be a track. Just a temporary one in place during the months when Everton aren't even playing there.
The new stadium isn't going to have a running track.

It's being built regardless of what happens with the Commonwealth Games and is not dependent on it.

The club aren't stupid and are not going to repeat the PR disaster that would be replicating West Ham's stadium.

-60000 seater stadium at Bramley Moore Dock.
-4 stands, all enclosed, rectangular shape, brick exterior based on the dock warehouses.
-Stadium design will win awards and cause amazing levels of red jealousy.
-Surrounding area will be redeveloped in very similar fashion to the planned Roma development, featuring retail and leisure.
-Bramley Moore Railway Station is a certainty to be built, inserted on the Northern Line between Sandhills and Moorfields.
-Goodison Park site will not be sold to a supermarket or anything like that and will instead be turned into part residential, part Everton In the Community free school, part local community leisure facilities.
-L4 area future secured with a meaningful lasting legacy.

Thursday's announcement will probably be the BMD site purchase by the club and not much else, although an initial new stadium design teaser may be released too.

Except pretty much none of that is true or likely.
Mayor won't 'exert pressure' for there to be a running track.
Already been repeatedly established by Meis that it won't be a bowl.
There won't be a running track.
And the chances are we won't get the Commonwealth Games. They've already started publicly floating the idea of sharing with Manchester. 'Manchester could host some events...' (e.g. Athletics). It's dead in the water.

Aye, I've found that out to my cost.

Should have just said 'there won't be a running track' and left it at that.

Meis isn't the one talking about a running track mate. It's trolls on here who keep bringing it up because they find it amusing.

Dave Klingon isn't important enough to know anything. Poor sod will just have to plague the threads on here spouting his divine vision as the only thing that will better Everton.

Good luck at weightwatchers @davek, you bad Ted. x
