Look what happened when Steklenberg filled in

Martina will be a disaster waiting to happen. I'm sure of it.

Pointless bringing players in who aren't as good as what we already have. Signing a top class young right back will give Coleman competition

Rubbish we shouldn't be signing a player who effectively cock blocks at best academy lad, that thinking ends up with full on rs mode.

We should if he's better than him. That sort of thinking ends up with full on Everton mode, being very 'nice' and getting pats on the head but not achieving anything.

That's no reflection on Kenny by the way, I like the look of the lad and he's got pedigree. I just think we need to be a bit ruthless with this type of thing, if a player is going to go on and be top class then great, get them in and keep them in. If they're just going to be decent though, and there's a chance of buying another young lad who does have the potential to be a star, go and get them. I'm not a fan of the fixation with using academy players just because they came through the academy. I want the best players playing for us, wherever they come from.

I've seen enough. Kenny and Dowell are both easily good enough for our first team. Certainly Id have them in there before Calvert-Lewin and Pennington who Koeman has handed game time to.

Coleman + Kenny is all we need, IMO.

Don't give a flying one if their awful academy lads mate, but when they have true talent then yeah bring them in, use them and get a real home-grown core to the squad

Without getting into any Koeman stuff mate

DCL is more ready at cb than pennington was or ever will be, Kenny is a bloody star of the future.

Dowell - honestly don't know, would love him to be, but seen lots of doubts from those that do watch him every time... better than DCl - not hard to be really....

IMO, Dowell is the best player at the club in terms of vision and technique. Even now.

It's criminal others are getting games and he's out in the cold. The lads a superstar in the making.

Yeah I agree & I'd like a home grown core too - if they're good enough.

What I was saying is that if you've got an academy lad with the ability to reach jagielka/Williams levels (very good) but have the chance to sign a lad with terry/Ferdinand ability (outstanding), get them in and 'cockblock' away.

would you rather keep him over Barkley Dave?

Not fishing either, i honestly haven't seen the lad enough to have a strong opinion
