Everton Youth Teams Thread

1-0 to England after 27 mins. Denny starting as the deepest midfielder. Played okay so far; tried a few Hollywood passes to varying success.

Surprised the likes of Chalobah and Dujon Sterling aren't playing.
Chalobah is definitely too old , he was U17s last year with Feeneyn, now he's moved up to u19's, Sterling too I think is too old. These lads are first year Scholars.

I thought Denny had a steady game , probably saw more of the ball in the semi final , but looked comfortable but not spectacular again. At this age when I think of the likes of Ledson, Kenny, Connolly, Davies , Holland , Yates and Feeney in recent years all our players look products of good coaching as opposed to stand out individuals. It can be difficult to tell if they will shine in future years or just players who've been well coached , if that makes sens.

Thought as they're both 17 they'd be eligible.

Thought Denny did okay but if he's the pick of the younger U18's then that's not a good sign.

England very much on the back foot since kick-off and looking particularly Neanderthal in their play. Not sure if it's just youth team football but we always seem in awe against more exotic fluid teams.

DCL again unimpressive with touch and involvement but he's not a left winger. Feel sorry for him.

Dowell, one loose pass aside (in a very poor area) has played well with the ball. Kenny and Connolly steady, doing well defensively as England have mainly been pinned back.

DCL is on the periphery of the game. But has just scored from a brilliant Dowell cross. I should add that it was great header from DCL too.
