Ronald Koeman discussion

For me it's much like the spurs game - emphasises where we are poor. Pennington sadly should have been nowhere near and its tactically poor to throw a lad in a game like that. Actually think Lennon at right wingback would have been a better option, but that's me.

Onwards and upwards. Well do the double next year.

3 at the back needs to go in the nearest bin against the top teams. Unless you have three capable central defenders it's useless.

Roll the dice, go 4-3-3 on Tuesday. Lukaku supported by two of these four -Mirallas/Lookman/Valencia/Barkley.

I'm sick of this myth, which is constantly being regurgitated by Toffee TV, that we are better with a back 3.

Our results and clean sheets with a back 4 completely disprove this and I pray we return to a back 4 on Tuesday.

I think Koeman needs to take a sledge hammer to the Jagielka/Baines generation and appoint a new captain for next season. Both of those players are great Evertonians and great servants of our club but they for me represent and embody a certain meek nice guy mentality that we need to root out of the club.We have to get more cynical characters into the squad who will do anything to win.Oh and we need a proper goal keeper as well.We have made great progress this season under Koeman but there's still a lot of crap for him to straighten out.
I was extremely disappointed with baines second half he couldn't even clear his lines kept giving it straight back to them the game was lost it's not exactly a hanging offence but he just didn't seem up for it & as a senior player needed to stand up & be counted.

That's actually a very good point. I doubt those who have very quickly stick the knife in were going to the opposite end of the spectrum when we battered City.

Interesting that.

To be fair I don't think the majority are. You get so pumped up for this game, even though it's foolish to really given how it always goes, and when we play so badly I think it's natural there's a higher level of disappointment. Especially when the manager is as culperble as the players for the performance and result. It's obvious we are a much improved team under Koeman however that shouldn't make him immune to criticism when he has a mare.
