Ronald Koeman discussion

Mate, that is what I've been saying all along - trying to see and highlight what is ACTUALLY there not what others wishful think is there.

Ok that is football but dont get too negative and don't spoil your good comments by arguing and not respecting other people's thoughts.

We can all rub along together nicely then.

Trouble is, those above get another transfer window too.

They do, but most teams above us have massive, massive squads.

I said in Jan that Koeman had taken a gamble by shedding the squad of all the tosh, leaving us short in terms of numbers if any injuries came, they certainly came this week and its hit us hard, we are now back to look over our shoulder rather than above us, but ok.

I sort of hope he's just protecting the players. The young ones anyway by not rinsing them like they should be.

Either way there's other ways to be honest in the interview.

I'll allow him this one. No more thank you RoKo.

Agree about protecting the young ones....but the word 'proud' shouldn't come anywhere near the mouth of the staff of Everton today...well, perhaps the tea lady as she had the day off

Too much gets made over unprepared statements like this. If he has sat down and carefully considered what to say I'd think differently about it but it's a post match interview.

I know what you're saying mate, but he sat there and watched the same game as we did, and piss poor performance would have been my response if someone had just asked me as the final whistle went what it was like.

There are two players I would have liked to have kept hold of, and they are Galloway and Deulofeu.

Galloway, yeah isn't get a game at West Brom. But I thought he handled himself well in the games he come in when Baines was out.

And letting Deulofeu go left us short of creativity and attacking intent in situations where we are chasing the game.

I can see why DCL started. Like you though can't see why he lasted so long out there.

...I can only think he wanted us to go long and utilise his obvious strength in the air in the hope that Lukaku and Barkley could feed off the knock ons but that situation failed to materialise. When the Reds were in possession we were literally playing with 8 players. 8 v 11, the outcome is obvious.

Why not start Mirallas though ? What did Calvert-Lewin offer as an attacking threat ?

True, but DCL scored in his last game, and there were lots of players who didn't offer anything.

Pre kick off I thought the line up was as good as we could have hoped for , bearing in mind our injuries.

DCL should have got the hook earlier though.
