Why was such a useless kid thrown into an away derby? Not his fault but he's nowhere near good enough for this club. Unacceptable to throw a derby

Calm down fgs Tim.

The lad got his goal but got torn to shreds at the back, as did Holgate.

We had no other options if we were to play 3 at the back, which evidently was always the plan (rightly or wrongly).

I personally have my doubts about his ability in general, but i'm willing to give him more gametime to show it, especially since the last time he played was part of Martinez's defence and he's been out injured all season.

I'm fed up waiting on potential. Had enough of waiting. I want success next year not in 5 years. I want proper signings not waiting in false hope for underwhelming kids to miraculously find ability. The club is in a better place off the field but still hamstrung by sentimentality and mental weakness on the field. They need to fear losing. They need to grow a set and they need to turn it round because this club has been a joke for far too long

As did the boy Mason, and to extent Davies.

Needs must.

Ridiculous that some are so willing to write him off.

Meh, we lost 4 players this week, 2 players who defo would have played and improved us massively, the young lads came in and sadly were found wanting, its not optimal, but hey ho, no need to throw everybody under the bus.

It shows the complete neglect of the club's transfer activity that a couple of injuries and we're down to the bare bones and lines up on the right with 2 absolutely mind numbingly useless no mark kids.

In reality Pennington ain't good enough.

Koeman was short of options and his hand was forced.

To be fair Koeman could not drag the lad off earlier than he did as it would have destroyed the lad.

For that I applaud Koeman.

I think that was the plan if im honest, 7th has also been our realistic aim, strip the squad of players we know arent good enough, allow the kids to bulk up the squad and see if they have it.

Then you're going to be disappointed

This is a gradual process that is going to take time

We're not going to be amazing overnight and we're not going to make loads of boss signings in Summer either

The whole "Now, Now, NOW!!!" attitude doesn't help, it hinders

We're a work in progress and we're going to need some quality to come from the youth team because we're not going to be able to buy it. We can buy some of it, but not all of it. We're not Chelsea or Man City. We don't have money to fling around at will. We need to buy well and promote from within, especially with a stadium to build

You call it sentimentality, I call it common sense, and once you've calmed down after another painful Derby loss I think you'll see that
