I disagree mate. And it has nothing to do with Ireland. I would say the same if it was a player who was putting England or any other country first.

He is contracted to Everton FC and has a duty/responsibility to us as regards actions he takes regarding his fitness and well being. He went into the International break having missed the last 2 games with ourselves. Apparently, the medical staff at the club told him that his injury would not heal in time for the Wales game. There must have been some truth in this as he didn't train until the day before the game. Keane had said if he did not train that day he wouldn't be considered. He did train, declared himself fit and then broke down in the warm up. Obviously he wasn't fit.

I would be angry with any player acting this way. What makes it worse is that he's done it before and was fully aware of the tension between club/country concerning this specific matter. To still go ahead with what he did shows total lack of respect for the club and its fans, especially at such an important moment in the season with the games coming up and with Schneids already injured.
You make a valid point mate. I just think both O'Neill and Koeman should really have kept this out of the media instead of giving it legs. No doubt McCarthy has done himself no favours here either. Just needs to be sorted once and for all. It's like a broken record at this stage.

You're right mate and tbh it goes back further than Koeman. Roy Keane definitely upped the anti in his usual uncompromising manner and I think last week just put the top hat on it.

I really don't think there's any gong back on it now. McCarthy will be gone in the summer anyway and with Coleman out for 12 months, I think it'll all just fizzle out naturally.

To kick this rubbish off again today with Coleman lying in a hospital bed was out of order.

WTF is it with Koeman? He just craves confrontation it looks like.

Since he's been here (off the top of my head) Koeman has lashed out so far against:

Barkley
Lukaku
McCarthy
Martinez
O'Neill
Wenger
Pulis

He's without a shadow of a doubt the least Everton-like manager I've ever seen. There's no class or decorum there at all.

Its because he is a winner and dosent waste time with idiots, he is exactly what we need and what the modern games demands, been years since we have had a manager who gets the clubs moto, its why Evertonians have really taken to him as we know, along with Moshiri, we can finally get somewhere.

Dave, would you care to outline the qualities that you demand to see in your ideal manager for Everton?

Please list the things the ideal manager is allowed to comment upon under your regime, together with the 'no go' areas - I ask this because it seems, that no matter what Ronald Koeman does, you find fault.

And finally, having outlined the qualities your ideal manager must possess, name the candidate please so we can discuss this mythical person ad nauseum in the manner that you dismiss Koeman.

Thanks in advance of a detailed response and with baited breath to hear who you want as Everton manager.

He;s unlikeable. I know people who tell me I'm wrong and that Koeman is the man to get this job done, to my consternation! But I dont find anyone who'll like him all that much.

I dont know, you may think it's all inconsequential, but I like an Everton manager to behave old school and with dignity. To get along with others and even suffer the idiocy of others when they'd rather not. A man of class with a sense of humour. Koeman cant do that. He's not man enough to walk that walk. He's an arrogant man and I dont care for him one bit. Never an Everton manager in terms of class in a month of Sundays. It might suit Ajax or some other boorish hell hole but not Everton Football Club.

Would you rather he was likeable or wins?

And I repeat, who is the manager you would want... We all know you were equally dismissive of Moyes, swooned over Martinez, but neither cut the mustard.

So, who is Mr.Perfect... we need a name?

Are you talking within reason rather than ideal but out of reach?

The ironic thing was Whiskey Nose Fergie would regularly pull Keane from Ireland squads back in the day when the rules were different only for him to turn out for the mancs a few days later which Keane knows full well. McCarthy has a genuine issue that I don't think the Irish Management understand/understood and Everton have only recently begun to understand. I really hope he isn't binned off as I think he's a very underrated player with years of improvement ahead of him. He's just a wee bit simple evidently!
