Joel Robles

A quality keeper (Pickford for example) will cost big money so IMO I don't think that is a necessity at the moment as Robles has looked more than capable.

We don't know exactly how much money we have to spend in the summer, but the defence needs serious surgery for me.

Neither Mori or Williams should be starters next season so we need to sign two quality centre halves, those two will be fine as cover.

We also need to find a quality replacement for Baines and we could also do with a good right back to cover and push Coleman so all across the back line needs strengthening.

I know that sounds daft as we're keeping clean sheets and have a decent defensive record but we're somehow achieving that with the central defenders looking less than convincing.

If either gets injured then we're recalling a past it Jagielka so we're definitely lacking depth there.

We also obviously need a striker as our options there are even worse so you're talking plenty of dollar to rectify those problems.

If there's still money in the kitty after the more urgent needs have been taken care of then fine bring in a quality keeper but for me that certainly not a priority.

I'd only have De Gea, Lloris, and Courtois atm over him as far as PL keepers go.
I might add Forster to that list, although either way it advocates the form he is in that we'd only replace him with real top quality keepers.

As long as it continues then I'm sure it makes Koeman's and Walsh's lives much easier as finding a new keeper will not be a huge priority.

Didnt see the game, he was good,eh?
I wasn't going to bother watching highlights, scoreless draw and all that.
But had a peep on hearing of his save. I reckon any keeper stood in that weather and being called upon in an instant to make a save like that deserves respect.
"More than capable" Robles is being described. I would go further and say he is vastly improved and if he carries on at this rate we will need no big money replacement in the summer.
Btw Lookman is looking some prospect.

It's because we got him from Wigan and only paid a small fee for him. If we bought him for £20m directly from Atletico people would be perfectly content.
Honestly I think if we start referring to him as 'ex-Atletico Madrid shot stopper Robles' suddenly he sounds much more exciting. His record this season in the league is fantastic, speaks for itself. He has a bit of funny face and came from Wigan though so he's obviously gash.

Playing well at the moment, I always been one of his biggest critics , but he has done really well since he has got back in the side, needs to add a bit more in commanding his area for his size, saying that the centre halfs dont help there and he is improving.

joel has not put a foot wrong and his saves have gained us points .lloris is rated one one the top keepers in the prem but if joel had made the mistakes he has especially the ones at city the other week joel would have been slaughtered

I think the problem is that he's too nice and is as charismatic as a dust ball. He needs to puch someone into the grill and maybe then people start to like and rate him more.

The shirt is his to lose.
I wouldn't be surprised if Koeman sticks with him beyond the summer now.

This.

And that's the way it should be.

West was 'In' until he got injured or lost form/confidence.
Then Rankin was 'In' until he got injured or lost form.

and that's exactly how it happened - none of this 'XXXXXX' is the No.1 keeper and comes straight back in, no matter how well the other guy is playing.

This method is harder to apply to (some) Out Field players
