Gerard Deulofeu

Find it very interesting that in all the reports of Deulofeu's loan it's mentioned that we weren't willing to include an option to buy.

I think he has a future here but needs games at a good level, and Milan offers that.

He's ideal for Europe, I'd be surprised if he's not playing for us next season.

Was going to ask this question about a buy back being included. I really hope we've just let him go for the season to get game time and experience under his belt. How he goes at Milan will speak volumes to his character and if he really wants to fight for a place in this Everton team

I hope he knocks it out there with more game time and comes back a better player.

I must say it is a long time since a player leaving EFC has saddened so many of us.

I think the vast majority of us love that type of player at our club and can see what a potentially enormous talent this young fellow is.

Let's hope Gerald does well out in Milan and returns to Everton to finally cement his place in the starting line up.

And who would have thunk it even a year ago.....Everton loaning players to AC Milan lol

Agreed.

What's surprised me is that there seems to be two camps.

One like me who hated to see him go, thought he was our best spark (off the bench) when needed, and hopes he'll come back a much better option for Koeman. I still remember him serving up assist for Lukaku easy as you please.

There's another camp that thought he was a complete waste of space, didn't play any defense, believe his form is gone, and thinks we should aim higher in terms of player quality.

I suspect that the truth lies somewhere in between.

I think it depends on one's outlook, Bill.

It is Cavaliers and Roundheads :)

And boys like us are Cavaliers ;)

Sad to see him go. As much as my heart still wants him here it can't be ignored that he just wasn't at the level we need.

I do genuinely hope he does well at Milan, there is a player in there.

I'm sad to see him go but I have the upmost trust at the moment in RK. It's up to Deulofeu - if he goes and shines in Italy, it'll only benefit us for when he comes back.
