As part of our development into a ruthless club we need to stop having sentiment for players based on them being cool, tough, or have some ability.

He hasn't cut the mustard so goodbye, try and do well so we get more for you in the summer.

I Still think Jags will go, but lennon and Gibson were stuck with until the summer i think.
 
I'm not being sentimental about Geri, or as others mentioned above, hoped to keep him because he's cool or whatever. I think he showed potential, and if we nurtured him like we are doing with Holgate, Davies, Lookman, he had something special which other players don't really have. He obviously needs strength & fitness training more than anything, and then some decision making skills. Barkley seems to be benefiting only now, recently, from Koeman's mentoring. Anyway, still can't believe Cleverley and Deulofeu left before Gibson, Lennon and Kone. Is Alcaraz still here?

Personally would have loved to see him dominate in a Championship team. Then again the diving may be even less acceptable there. Could have seen him doing well at Newcastle if he did like 20% more stepovers/game.
