oh, and came across this today... Donovan rated #50th best player in the World Cup this summer.

May be a bit generous in my opinion, but insteresting nonetheless...

Welcome to the site! Plenty of us Americans flocked to this site right when LD was announced to come to Everton, so your theory is correct.

It has also already been discussed here in this ridiculous 99 page thread :lol:

If I ever get an Everton shirt with a name on the back, I'd probably go with Yobo or Arteta on the back.

Not to be taken too seriously, but Alexi Lalas did say during the USMNT friendly against the Netherlands yesterday that Donovan's stellar performance for Everton just opened the eyes of many European clubs. He said while he's confident Landon will return to the MLS, he says after the WC the sky's the limit for Landon.

Lalas just said he thinks Landon will have plenty of suitors. I'm just hoping that Everton is one of those suitors, and Donovan picks Everton due to his comfort zone here. (y)
