Everton v Wimbledon

...I have posted before following advice from the Mods but I was at a cricket match some 20 years ago with an old chap who was well known on the after dinner speaking circuit. Lovely man, massive Evertonian. Out of the blue he asked I'd I'd ever been to a bent game, he said not Wimbledon but the 4-4.

He was in the VIP lounge after the game when he was told a number of Liverpool players were 'at it'. The goalkeeper was later involved court cases but if you look back at our goals they are suspicious. The other thing about that game is that Dalglish resigned a few days later. I won't mention names but watch our goals again.
You think Dalglish got wind of it or was involved

...I don't think he was involved but if something like that is happening it's hard to mask it from the dressing room. It does seem a coincidence. I'm 100% sure the old bloke who informed me wasn't making up what he was told but I can't vouch for the person who informed him.

Watched that game a hundred times - I can't see the fix in any way.

As said by @Kever10, Stuart's goal was a bit soft, but I've seen many worse goals go in against much better 'keepers than Segers. Other than that, nothing about the game whatsoever looked fixed.

My overriding memory was thinking 2-2 would be enough - Ipswich were away at Shearer's Blackburn and I wa sue they would get beat there - the Stuart goal was a bonus at the time, but in hindsight was desperately needed otherwise we would have gone. Just think Wimbledon buckled under the atmosphere, their players were all edging to the tunnel before the final whistle, couldn't wait to get off and avoid the pitch invasion. A truly amazing game one that will live forever, but no fix in my mind

Wimbledon couldn't believe they were 2 up, and totally shat themselves as they knew a pitch invasion was inevitable.

I was exactly the same Bob,I thought we were safe at 2-2 as well!!I remember seeing Vinnie Jones coming over to take a throw in by the family enclosure, he was white as a sheet and he didn't want to know, we were not going down that day:)
