Ronald Koeman discussion

I'd say our best players this season have been Gueye, Lukaku, Barry and Williams. Bolasie is our only creative player who does something every game, but he's not a world beater and we know that.

Barkley has been poor and Mirallas/Del/Lennon are all either completely inconsistent or garbage

How can you tell wether the players are good enough when they don't try.

We are out worked outfought weekly & don't seem concerned by this why?

He need to sit down with them & have it out as there not trying.

Decisions like subbing Barkley today don't help personally I would of took jags off at half time possibly even Coleman too why not bolasie he stank again

Are you having a laugh, Bolasie has been way more effective than Barkley, what club do you manage

What do people see in him that suggests he can turn this around?

Serious question

I'm not sure any manager can make much of this squad. Which unfortunately means I've no idea whether he is any good or not. I'm veering towards thinking he's probably crap but that's based on nothing other than the fact I'm an evertonian and pessimism is in my DNA

19 points after 13 compared to last seasons 20 points after 13.

@davek

last season we had tougher opposition in those 13 games, and without the novelty of a new manager's honeymoon period nor of a 30m winger.

there's a reason why there's this oft-used phrase in football: the buck stops with the manager.

No one sensible wants him out, but our poor run is his responsibility.

He has been a pretty average manager. Dreadful is a bit harsh.

That said you could reincarnate Rinus Michels (get your cheque book out Moshiri) and put him in charge of us and we would still offer up the same dross.

Mentally weak players, massive fannies the lot of them.

I want sooo many of these players out the door sooo quickly

Koeman needs to be doing better, I'd like to see a change in tactics and formation, and he definitely needs to freshen the starting 11 up with a couple of the u23's.

However, I'm not hanging this all on Koeman, no way. This is pretty much two and a half seasons of this kind of no aggression, no backbone, no heart performances.

There's something rotten at the core of the squad. Heads drop the minute things go against us, players either can't or won't press the opposition, the movement from Lukaku + 2 wingers is constantly non-existent. Players seem to bothered about moaning at each other than actually trying to do something themselves. Koeman, Walsh and Moshiri have massive work to do to fix a broken squad, and it's going for take either a few transfer windows, or a couple really bold windows where we bin a lot of them off.

There's a malaise around the club where mediocrity is acceptable, too many people; players, staff and suits just aren't winners.

We're supposed to be Nothing But the Best is good enough, too often best of the rest has been acceptable.
Excellent post mate.
