ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I get a bit sick of all this Kopite stuff. I'm critical of us as a club, I'm also critical of our support at the moment. Deservedly so. Regarding the manager, I was critical weeks ago and getting accused of being RS. Today? There's loads more thinking exactly the same. Ditto Bolasie. Do you not think my post regarding our support and 'them' hits the nail on the head? I've picked a couple of things up on this thread as examples of our OTT hatred, yes we all dislike them, but the levels of preoccupation and hatred is slightly concerning given how bad we are the moment. If our support spent more time supporting us than worrying about 'them' we might just improve as a club on and off the pitch. I actually got into a few disagreements couple years back, as I asked a few Blues in The Valentine in Aintree when we got beat by Chelsea and most seemed to be happy about it, I asked if they'd rather us finish in the top 4 and them win the League or fail on both counts. The answer disappointed me and sums up our fan base. Some would put their hatred for them before their support of us. I think it's a major problem. If they feel this way they may as well go and support whoever 'they' are playing, they're not wanted at Goodison, at least by me. But, alas, I'm very much in the minority.

for a blue mate you seem to post an awful lot in the Kopite thread.

and seem to always have a word of defence for them as well. Hell i suggested kopites make up rivalries and didn't realise at the time the person disagreeing with me....was you! funny that.

anyway, For an apparent blue, you never seem to have anything positive to say about the club but have plenty of defence for liverpool whenever you see an opportunity. So tell me again how you are a blue?

There was a "scapegoat" joke in there somewhere but you sliced it just wide mate.

I know, I know.. but hey, maybe LFC sell the goats for, what, about the same price as a commemorative Main Stand seat or perhaps a bit cheaper like a plastic Liver Bird on a plinth (£20) or a Cuddly Hendo Bleacher Creature (£20) or perhaps even a Linda Henry "Meet Mighty Red" or "Goodnight Little Liver" - we wouldn't want to accuse Mrs Henry of making money out of gullible little Kopites now would we?

Mate, I am a Blue. Tell me what I've posted on the last page that's wrong regarding our support. Instead of accusing me of being RS, tell me what I've said that's wrong about our support.

As above, why is most of your postings in this thread or mentions them at some point, even in a loose sense?

Don't think i have read anything positive you have said about everton, but defend liverpool to the hilt? So they don't make rivalries up, we should stop hating them and we are all sad for anyone suggesting we don't want them to win the league.

You sure?

Kapow!

Wanting your competitor to lose and wallowing in their defeat doesnt make it into a so called 'rivalry' to match that of Utd though. Not least because a few RS put it on your facebook page. Is that not the point of sporting competition, you're trying to make it something it isn't regarding City and Spurs. It seems a long time ago that we would be willing for other teams to lose, other than 'them'. Or to put it another way, it seems a long time since we were that competitive. You can have healthy competition without making into some sort of rivalry.

The only exciting thing left this season is for us to win the 'RS losing the League' trophy.

Mate, we're a Lukaku injury away from a relegation battle. If Coutinho or Lallana do get injured for a good while I reckon we could win the 'RS not winning the League' trophy. That would be sweet.

This is what I said

That's the spirit. Every level of our club displays this defeatist attitude. As fans, we could change this. How do you expect us to change on the pitch, when even the fans take this attitude. Maybe, just maybe, if we were a little more positive it may translate down to pitch level.

So if we support the team a little better, spread a bit of positivity, it may translate down into the pitch. You said it works the other way round. So we gotta be winning for you to support them. Not rocket science.

I'm confused. So the RS aren't our rivals anymore?

I'm actually not, I'm just stating fact above. Did most on here want City to beat us? There you go. Fact. Does stating fact make me a RS.

Couple seasons back, the majority were willing to sacrifice League position if it meant 'them' not winning the League. Makes you wonder if it's all worthwhile. We may as well just support whoever they're playing.

The only exciting thing left this season is for us to win the 'RS losing the League' trophy. This season could still be a success. Everton aren't we

Seems to be a common theme here mate, this is most of your activity on here ;)

We alays get a few posters like you mate. Usually at the start of the season when "it's your year". Oddly these same posters go AWOL by Easter.

You might be a blue mate. However when you go on an Everton forum on the Liverpool thread, and start telling stories about how Evertonians were chuffed we lost 5-0 to Chelsea because it stops Liverpool it doesn't read like any Evertonian I've ever met. Everyone one of them were gutted about losing to Chelsea.

Then you go on RAWK and you get their obsessive petty-mindedness about us caring more about them than our own results, often quoting posts from Evertonians who don't last that long on here unarguable evidence that Evertonians care more about Liverpool losing than Everton winning.

It just seems a bit coincidental? I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but we know that RAWK members come on here, make slanderous remarks about Evertonians to then build a fictional case against Evertonians. We know Solomon Grundy came on here and lied about Hillsborough to score points on an internet forum. We also know that other RAWK members who would undoubtedly claim to be disgusted by the lies about Hillsborough will quote my posts and omit that bit of information. They too are complicit in covering up his behaviour. As I said I would normally give most people the benefit of the doubt, but there is a layer of Liverpool spectators who even when they are top of the league are so obsessed about Evertonians and Everton that they would be signing up for fake accounts to try and make up stories about fictional Evertonians.

It's the same fictional world they exist in that the N word is a term of endearment because Suarez's mum said so. Or that their racism is acceptable because Everton are basically C18 (who in all my years at Everton have only seen turn up once, when they were getting volleyed all over County road by Evertonians in the mid 90's).

If you are an Evertonian and have met some Evertonians who are delighted Chelsea beat us 5-0 then I apologise. I would recommend you challenge them on the behaviour and remind them that they are out of touch with 99.9% of Evertonians, that while LFC are doing well they are no serious threat to the Premier League title (having won it less than Blackburn Rovers and Leicester) and we need to get our own house in order and stop taking pride in their failure. Our aim will always be to be the best, irrespective of where Liverpool are.

I would also recommend you post that stuff in the Everton forum either as a new thread or as one of many on their which debate and question aspects of our support base as oppose to putting it in the thread about LFC, as it doesn't really have any relevance. If you keep popping it in here people will assume you are looking to engineer fictional evidence to feed into the unreliable narrative that has developed over on RAWK.

If you are a red the welcome to the forum and I welcome your input as I do with other rival fans. I would ask out of decency not to make up fictional occurrences but to debate the concrete reality. Good luck to your lot this season, I can't say I hope you win it but you're enjoyable to watch at the moment and you won't catch me carrying on like your lads did on RAWK celebrating United winning a cup and cheering on groups of Mancs attacking lone Evertonians as they did. But then again I'm not a cowardly bully (Ie a kopite) so why would I?
