ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Agree with everything but this, let me tell you Ash, if Everton beat them or look likely to achieve anything, they go into full on meltdown. Scruffy mongrels, bitterz, blue nose scum, the scruffs from across the park are just some phrases regularly hurled at Everton when we show some sort of positivity. Do you remember LFC talking about us earlier in the season when we were top 4 and they got beat 2-0 by Burnley ? Some remain quiet whilst some hurl abuse, they cannot stand us and would love us as a club to just wither away and die.

If we beat them more regularly mate then yeah they would be. but in terms of a one off, picture this, they are top of the league come december, we beat them, do you think they would fume like that or laugh at the fact it was our first derby win in 6(?) years and in their words 'season over now we beat them'?

See what i mean?

One of the most pleasing things about football in the last couple of decades is seeing how they all have reacted to United. How any fanbase can call anothers 'bitter' whilst behaving the way they have to another teams success is laughable. Not only that but there reaction to us staying up, especially the second time, seen many a kopites head explode with the pain of it all.

Tell you a Derby I hated for us bottling it. When Kyrgiakos got sent off and we still didn't turn up.

The one and only time I've been to Mordor for a Derby. The infamous Steau Bucharest 86 flag was waved about at that game. Another non performance, and a headed winner from the ugly sweaty faced beut Kuyt to cap it off. Hellish.

I miss the aggressive approach Everton had towards them in the 90s, we always had to win ugly. It was great to see them getting battered physically though. They had a completely different approach back then.

That isn't what you said though is it

This is what I said

That's the spirit. Every level of our club displays this defeatist attitude. As fans, we could change this. How do you expect us to change on the pitch, when even the fans take this attitude. Maybe, just maybe, if we were a little more positive it may translate down to pitch level.

So if we support the team a little better, spread a bit of positivity, it may translate down into the pitch. You said it works the other way round. So we gotta be winning for you to support them. Not rocket science.

He genuinely thought he could replicate Beckham in making US Soccer a global attraction. The man has no decency about him, even some Liverpool fans have struggled for a come back to the phrase 'Stevie Me'. Don't get me wrong he had one hell of a career at Liverpool (and successful) but when he left LFC you always knew he wouldn't retire quietly, too much ego to do so.

He should go play for one of the New York MLS teams. That way, he could live on Long Island. Town called Islip.

This point can also be spun the other way, when Liverpool are doing well, they say they don't care about what we do, doesn't that tell you why they are so patronising and venomous to Everton when things aren't going well for them ?

Just look at their hatred for United, why do they hate them ? Don't give me all the rival city crap, the rivalry was born out of their anger and hatred for United delivering on their promise and knocking them off their perch. How can you hate someone for living 40 minutes away ?

the kinda false untied rivalry i can understand, keeping that tradition up of the liverpool manchester rivalry that occurs in a general sense. Obviously the funny bit is where they were rivals for so many years and united were just laughing at them.

Saying that, is it not a similar situation for both sides? We beat them and they don't care, liverpool beat united and until recently they never cared about that, it became a hollow pride victory.

you are right, if we were doing really well they would hate it, and perhaps add a bit more steel into the game but overall right now, they wouldn't care about losing a derby as long as it didn't dent their title bid they have in november ( lol ) .

Need to batter them on the pitch, as currently their pressing style will slaughter us.

I think it's going to take a while to get rid of the psychological mind set our players have going into this.

Every Liverpool fan expects an easy win in this fixture, and rightly so.

The fact that we're (some of us) starting to 'brick it/get our excuses in early' A MONTH OUT FROM THE GAME.

Shows we have a long way to go to get our collective Mojo's back.

I'm almost 34 years old, I think they've challenged for the title together once in that period. Even then the RS ended up finishing 3rd in what was described as a 2 horse race.
