Way too early to say that ship has sailed. It was only a few days ago that Koeman said he thought that Ross could play DM.

Yes but in the way we play he cant be a cm because you need defensive qualities like putting pressure on your opponent.

Funny thing is, one of the things I reckon he has improved on is tracking back, putting a tackle in, etc, he is looking a lot fitter, and leaner as well.

Like that ever mattered in football?! Gazza and Rooney are widely considered to be 2 of England's most gifted players in the last 30 years. Neither come across as particularly smart.

That's far easier to learn than having vision to make the killer pass. How many times have we seen him do that in over 3 years. The best pass I saw him make was for England. Ozil and KDB do that every week.

If he isn't played further back and can't sort out the defensive side of his game I hate to agree with people he will be following the career of the likes of Rodwell.

I don't think it's surprising that we went after Sigurðsson in the summer.
