Barkley had a terrible first half the other evening and I don't remember anything he contributed to the game :-( He was strolling around not making an effort and for that Koeman subbed him at half time :) His a good player but is too inconsistant and lacks the fighter instinct and excuses have been for years as to why he needs time and patience to perform :-( This is a welcome to Koeman reality time Ross, perform and put effort in or off you go to sit and sulk on subs bench :)

*cough*

Record PL finishes and points at Southampton......

Just saying.
Yeah, but it's hardly a stellar managerial career.

If this was Alex Ferguson there;d be less room for criticism. It's not though. He's been in management for about 15 years and had a mixed bag of results. He doesn't have the stature as a manager to be pulling off tricks like this.

If he wants to go the route he seems to here targeting individual players and giving a blank cheque to others similarly 'failing', then he'll have to take what comes his way.

I'm not at all. I was covering the game the other day for several huge websites - for the ratings afterwards I gave Ross the prestigious 'flop of the match' award...

I also watched the Stoke game - in full. I actually said after it that I thought he played just fine - always looked to make an impact and never hid away from the ball - things just didn't come off for him (IMO).
nice to see this

Yes. It is.

I'm not having a go at people criticising him.

I just don't get the assertion/over-reaction that suddenly he's crap and has bene for ages and that Koeman doesn't rate him...
he's not crap its the footballing intelligence he needs to work on to become world class

i just hope koeman can get him to improve on that so he makes the right decision, right passes, picks the right times to shoot and can start being a proper number 10
