Too much dead wood...

Niasse, Kone and McGeady are all abominations and need to be cast off on a wooden raft up the Mersey sharpish.

McAleny & Rodriguez can both go, not arsed about either of them really. Garbutt though I think will end up being Baines' replacement. I rate the floppy haired meff.

That'll do for this season, but long term, if we're looking to step up, then Joel, Oviedo, Gibson, Cleverley, and probably McCarthy all need moving on.

Leandro, Garbutt, McGeady and Niasse have not been assigned squad numbers. McAleny has, but it's been pretty clear for some time that his future doesn't lie with Everton. If we can't flog 'em, we should loan 'em.

Just as well that Martinez got lucky with Lukaku when you look at some of the other strikers he brought in : Kone, Leandro, Niasse.

Simple thing is none of these will play once the squad is finalised.

Kone, Mcgeady, Niasse will not get minutes whilst Gibson, Oviedo, Cleverley etc will be used sparingly.

When there is a takeover and a change in mindset of owner and manager, often a squad ends up bloated with lots of unused deadwood.

It speaks volumes that the likes of McGeady would sooner sit on their large paypackets thus large Nuggetluggage backsides, than do the jobs they supposedly love. That is what is so wrong with the modern game.

Money 1st, football 2nd.

I don't really understand why anyone spends time worrying about us not having got rid of certain players. If RK doesn't want someone they'll be moved on at some point as\when someone comes in for them with a decent offer.

More worried about who we have in the 1st team. Everyones different I guess though.

There is a theory in football that it's more important to get rid of bad players than to make signings.

Koeman is not known to be an expert to be an expert at buying players,
but he had the common sense to sack rotten apples such as Niasse and McGeady.

It's difficult though, because no normal team will want any of our utter woeful players.

McGeady had a chance at Wednesday last season and screwed himself, and in turn us by being Aiden McGeady.

You are right, they should take huge pay cuts, move their families and risk everything to get more playing time....

Just looking at some of the players somehow still in our squad.

Conor Mcaleny - How is this guy still here? Aged 23 surely his ship has well and truly sailed? A lot of promise for this lad but clearly hasn't worked so why are we keeping hold of him?

Luke Garbutt - 4th choice left back, supposedly. If he's not good enough and isn't going to develop much more, get rid.

Leandro Rodriguez - 23 now. Not been even close to the first team. Another so called youngster which isn't really that young anymore.

Aiden McGeady - Yeah, him.

Frustrates me seeing 22/23 year olds which if good enough would have made it by now. Their taking up a space in a squad which is supposed to be for development, so 18/19 year olds are being held back by a 23 year old, championship standard player.

I agree pal although I got slated for saying browning isn't a youngster anymore and he's at the age now where he's either gonna make it or won't. And he simply hasn't

Rodriguez was always a chance buy. A strange buy but for the money there wasn't much to lose but your right he needs to go. McAleny is the new Hibbert, will stay with us till he's 35 having hardly played but gets re signed every year for the sake of it
