Too much dead wood...

Whatever happened to Ledson, Kenny and Henen?

Ledson and Kenny both played with England u18s/19s I think this summer. They'll be in and around the youth set-up. Kenny impressed last season at Oxford and may well go back out on loan. Henen scored for the U23s last night, as did Matty Foulds.

There's plenty of time for these lads. No need to rush. When they're ready (like Holgate, Galloway etc.) they'll play.

Cheers, Toff ;)

Just looking at some of the players somehow still in our squad.

Conor Mcaleny - How is this guy still here? Aged 23 surely his ship has well and truly sailed? A lot of promise for this lad but clearly hasn't worked so why are we keeping hold of him?

Luke Garbutt - 4th choice left back, supposedly. If he's not good enough and isn't going to develop much more, get rid.

Leandro Rodriguez - 23 now. Not been even close to the first team. Another so called youngster which isn't really that young anymore.

Aiden McGeady - Yeah, him.

Frustrates me seeing 22/23 year olds which if good enough would have made it by now. Their taking up a space in a squad which is supposed to be for development, so 18/19 year olds are being held back by a 23 year old, championship standard player.

As for Garbutt I would put him as better than Oviedo. And as a replacement for Baines who you are thinking of?

Besic and Cleverly need to go for me. The former is never fit and the latter is guff. Add in the joke that is Kone and the pretender Niasse. I've given up hope of ever seeing the back of Gibson he seems to hoodwink the club into keeping him on year after year regardless of his off the field shenanigans.
Gibson doesn't play often, but I don't mind him as a player.

Kone, Niasse, McGeady and McAleny we should accept whatever anyone is prepared to give us purely to get them off the books. Think we are looking to loan Niasse to try and recoup some of the money we spent on him in loan fees but for the sake of saving 45k a week in wages we should just get rid asap.

Garbutt has been given a pretty raw deal I think, there should definitely be clubs in for him on loan and think somewhere like Leeds would be great for him for a season. Let him be seen performing and come back and challenge then.

Cleverley is bang average but did start last season well and people were up in arms when Dier chopped him early on because he was contributing. He is a decent squad player but would take anything over 7mill for him (got to be worth that almost for the English quota alone).

Gibson will come in and do a job for us in cup games and will be ideal to partner someone like Davies in those games.

Although I thought he played a bit better on Saturday I still think McCarthy is one to be rid of, he got shown up by Gueye on Saturday for the type of performances we expect from a defensive mid and we havent seen that from James in 2 years. Admittedly it was only one game that Gueye has performed for but the stats show he was doing it all year for Villa too so I would take the money for him and put it in the keeper or number 10 fund.

Dead wood is hard to shift, even the small crap clubs with no turnover have TV money now. so unless they drop a division we are stuck with a few we cant shift I reckon.

We have got a lot of crap on the books haven't we, people say get rid, but others simply don't want them because they are crap.
