Barry sitting in front of the back three with Gana buzzing around shutting players down and Barkley as playmaker. We need a new DM to replace Barry or give him time off. Lukaku and Del up front. That would do me for this year, Bolasie is also an option along with Lukaku.

Kone and Williams at the back gives us a chance to go four across the middle or even three with a front line of Bolasie, Lukaku and Del. That might go against the Koeman way of doing things.

The only problem with that is the Barkley as playmaker part. He's good at what he does, but he's not a playmaker.
 


He gives me a feeling of a money grabbing sort of player somehow...a bit like Adebayor and how he had to *feed his family* in Africa and hence a move to Man City was the way to do that. This lad signed for Sunderland 6 months ago and based on a few good performances wants to hold the club to a ransom over new contract or else wants to be transferred.

Can't help but agree with you somewhat. With some on here angry at Stones last season, there is a hint of hypocrisy. Sadly, I feel it's a trend in some players.

He was promised a new contract, moyes confirmed this. It shouldnt matter if hes been with them months weeks or days...

He hasnt got one and now theyre saying he will get one after he has the opportunity to move...its not right.

He wasn't given a deadline to be offered a new contract. Sunderland have every right to wait till the window closes to offer him a new contract. Just get the feeling that cos he took out Toure, scored a couple of goals he thinks he's Sunderland's Chiellini. He may be a very good player who may further prove his worth but this attitude of his puts me off.

The weird thing was that he claimed the 'open statement' where he said he was leaving had nothing to so with him.

Also doesnt make sense why he was at finch farm...
