Changing Perceptions

Maybe your not seeing the whole picture here Zat.

Manchester City are owned by a sovereign freaking state, to add some context :

ADIA has never published how much it has in assets but estimates have been between $800 billion to approximately $875 billion USD.[1]The Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute puts the figure at US$773 billion.

LOL

That has zero bearing on the supposed ambition and wealth we now have does it?

We are told that there is a fortune to be spent and "we can afford anyone we want".

I'm not sure how hard it is to understand...ITKs, Journalists and whoever else has had an opinion has said very clearly:

"we can sign anyone we want".

However on this thread alone almost everyone seems to think this is not true

How odd.

This is madness. Koeman isn't even officially our manager yet and you're criticising our "lack of ambition" by "only signing Gibson"..!

The window isn't even open yet; we have the entire summer left to do our business.

If you read my comments ive not said that at all.

Its quite clear that Koeman+Gibson are underwhelming and im interested to see what this "ambition" looks like.

Not sure why everyone is so up in arms over the signing of a depth player. Why waste transfer money on a depth player when you can re-sign the one you have? Not like Gibson is going to be a first choice player. Be real folks.

I'm all for buying butland. Not sure what we'd have to offer the likes of Kane and Alli other than money though.

At that point people start to take notice and we then put big money down for Eric Dier and Delle Alli. Additionally when Lukaku is sold we add some money and move for Kane.

Does Gibson count towards the home grown quota? It seems to make sense that we hang on to squad players already in that group to balance incoming players from abroad, rather than having to pay over the odds for English players.

You are very odd Zatman.

Because that depth player has nothing to offer a team with ambition challenging the top four. Only a mid table team.

Correct. Which is what we all are reading daily of this 'new Everton'.

Precisely....

Koeman is meant to be a 'stable option'
Gibson is a clown..

Daily were reading about having a huge wealth of riches and can sign anyone.

Well if thats true those are the players we should be moving for.

However apparently this thread is nonsense as we dont have money or ambition after all.

Be honest, this is a troll thread, right?
A friendly conversation amongst friends. I see nothing wrong with this as I sit here watching a replay of France v Romania and all the top class talent on display that money can buy.

We couldnt attract a single French player.

Patience grasshopper. We haven't started targeting players yet.

Save that fume for if Mr Koeman starts bringing in Southampton footballers a la Roberto en masse.
