Not an impossible shout. TOP manager tends to leave after achieving pinnacle success with their team and finds new challenge elsewhere.
We had witness countless manager leaving their job after winning the World Cup.

There's nothing more for him to achieve at athletico if they win the champions league
I tend to think it really is

Sorry mate, that's as much as I know - heard whispers on Overmars but nothing I'd want to say I'm definite about.
Let me just say thanks for sharing your knowledge Mr Esk. I shall not be asking you to reveal any info, just wanted you yo know I am very appreciative of the way you're helping the masses deal with this very traumatic moment.

Oh no, I am starting to sound like Roberto.

In terms of football wages, even if we make him a top earner (manager wise) it's still a relative pittance as he'd probably only be on about the same as Niasse. No reason whatsoever not to give who you believe to be the right man what he wants. Emery is a winner, we need a winner, we have to pay him accordingly. I'll be very, very disappointed if we play hardball and negotiate over silly things.

The manager is the most important piece of the team......pay him accordingly

To be fair though, if it's true he's on 1.3m euros there or whatever, then they're not gonna say here's £6m or whatever straight away are they? Nobody wants to pay a manager more than they need to, even a £2m salary would be a massive raise for him.

Having said that if he says he wants a bit more, don't hassle over it, just give it him.

It's irrelevant to me what he's on now, just give the guy what he wants. It's not going to make any noticeable difference to our wage bill as he'll just be on what Martinez was on, only difference is we'll have a winner not a relegation fodder manager.

He (emery) was ranked in the top 10 managers last year and will be pushing top 5 now. if we want to make a statement he needs to be paid big money. It won't be long before he moves on as he will be very much in demand.

There's a good piece by Graham Hunter on the ESPN site that discusses the positive affect that Zidane has had on Real Madrid since taking over and how highly he is regarded by his senior playing staff.

Worth a read - as it kinda dispels they rumour that his sacking is imminent should he lose the CL final.

http://www.espnfc.co.uk/uefa-champi...ne-has-rescued-real-madrid-in-just-six-months

A brief except below:-

What Zidane has achieved, nearly six months since taking over, states that whether he's a tactical maestro or not,
he's coached and man-managed in a manner that has convinced almost every single one of his senior squad. That's a massive achievement.

From day one until now, there's been a happier, more intense, harder working, more committed and more unified atmosphere at Los Blancos' Valdebebas training ground.

The fact that Sergio Ramos, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema have queued up to testify how wonderful it is to have him managing them is less relevant than the testimony of your own eyes. Judge the truth of their statements by looking at the increased work rate, confidence, and "bounce-back-ability" Madrid have shown since he took over. I'd argue that in the normal starting XI, there has been a sliding scale of improvement
for every player, with the possible exception of Keylor Navas who was already Madrid's best performer.

I don't think his wages is high, but his buyout clause is most likely 8 digit
Why would he have an 8 digit clause on a contract, that is only worth €1.3 million p.a. and only 12 months left on it. Don't get me wrong we will have to pay some form of compensation to Sevilla, but I highly doubt it will be an eight digit amount!

Funny those people saying "no one had heard of Emery before the Liverpool game" lol He's hardly an obscure name, not everyone is oblivious to football outside of the Premier League.

So in reality, not a peep from EFC, Jose,Koeman,Emery,De bore in fact no one on the search. Just forums and newspapers speculating.

And that's why you should take what these self acclaimed ITK people say with a massive dollop of salt.

IMO they don't know anything. They just guess or make suggestions based on media speculation and claim the credit if
it comes off. If it doesn't come off then it's very easy to make something up to cover themselves.
The only people who know what's truly going on right now is the board.

I hope the Mole surfaces in your garden and spells out SNIFF IT in massive great holes

Feeling i get was, before the liverpool game there wasn't much of a "OH ME GOD LETS GET EMERY" train of thought around. After the match that changed.

He is most definately not a no body!
