So typical that Emery will get the real madrid job when we had a chance, though zidane was doing ok and is improving madrid

Just give it to the man that really wants to be here...as his first choice from day 1.
Recruitment firm fluffity fluff.
It's where we will go to in the end anyway.

Yes, but you generally don't explicitly say to one potential employer that you'll defer making a decision on their offer because you're waiting for something better.

Hardly conveys enthusiasm and dedication
It all basically comes down to phrasing basically, "sorry i cant accept right now as i'm waiting for something better" is different than " I apperciate the offer and I am truly interested, I just need to explore all my options before I can commit."

I used the same line in the Lisbon last night , went down badly.

This is football management and its cat and mouse remember , not like the real world.
If RM are interested Emery's agents would be putting it roght out there on the table , means more money for them.

Arsenal paid 37 million for Xhaka

...as has been said, the paperwork etc will have been readied for completion in July. i'm still not exactly sure if our own transfer dealings are on hold until a new manager is appointed or a DoF. I get the impression the Coach and DoF work in partnership to identify the types of player required, the DoF then makes the transfers happen.

Watched the programme on 1966 World Cup winning side (worth a watch if you haven't seen). Ramsey said he wasn't trying to select the best players, he was selecting the best team. The word he used was 'blend'. Our new guy has to have a real understanding of the team model he wants.

Be interesting if he plunges wholesale into the transfer market immediately or wants to assess what we have first and only brings one or two in.

......so we give it to the person who wants us as opposed to the person we want.

That the issue, we need more then two players due so many leaving. A new goalkeeper, a new centre back, a left winger and an attacker plus maybe striker depending on lukaku
