Haha.

In my defence, I think at the time when I and a few others stuck by him he was showing signs he knew what he was doing.

Since the start of March - specifically that West Ham result - I think many lost faith though. Then I think against Arsenal, the players lost faith too. Throwing Baines under the bus was the final straw and, although we played very well in the second half at Wembley, there's now nothing left to play for and really no reason for him to stay.

The first half of the season we were playing some brilliant stuff going forward.

We had that spell through Jan to Feb where, bar the league cup defeat, we were looking like we'd found a balance.

But he's/the squad have complete lost it from then and now there's nothing.

Last year for me, the hull defeat nailed his coffin shut. The play at the start of the season going forward, was really good in spells, it wasn't consistent. But the major issue was is inability to sure up that the defence, and by that I don't mean the back line, the entire team will not press play it's so strange.

That is what has done it for me. Mr Niasse.

Came on against West Ham when 2-0 to the good. Cost 13.5m and has reminded me of those great days of Brett Angell and Stuart Barlow.
Now we can laugh all we want about wasting money on a comedy player, most sides in this league have done so often, But on Saturday Lukaku appeared to have been possessed by the Ghost of Barlow Past. Dreadful penalty, His diving header attempt was truly embarrassing, and coutless presentable chances miscontrolled or underhit. We needed a fresh striker desperately to take those presentable chances.
Camera cuts to comedy Umar, playing on his cellphone.
We sold a player in January who I would have backed all day long to score that diving header. We got good money from Norwich but wasted it.
I do think it is amazing.

How could a manager take a terrible footballer, sell him for a great price, steal even. Then spend more money on a worse player?! Just incredibly awful transfer business.

Is the anyone out there who actually wants him to stay? If so I would like to hear some logical reasons. Seriously interested.
There will be some I'd imagine. Up until Christmas I was desperate for the luck to change for him. I believed that it was just bad luck we were having and that we were on the verge of being a very good side. But my wanting things to turn out good for him have been obliterated by the performances and results (particularly at home) and his comments since December. But, there might still be some fans who haven't reached that stage yet. As you say, let's hear from them.

It makes us look a bit silly now. You sack him now (preferably 2 matches ago) and you show a statement of intent that we won't put up with prolonged underperformance. I can only assume that it is to do with a compensation issue and we don't want to throw money away.

Not sacking him basically sets RM up for 4 games of dogs abuse so unsure if BK actually does like him that much. Should put him out of his misery

Its desperation and nothing more

He knows he is in trouble and now he is lashing out at anyone and everyone in a tragic attempt to save his job. I will take this as a positive sign that he hasn't convinced the board about his long term future otherwise there would be no need for all of this about Moyes.

One thing that I have learned about this is that he is not the "Nice man" everyone was saying Roberto is by having a dig at Moyes is crass and classless, not the EFC way. Especially after the last 2 seasons he has dished up for us and after a fluke 1st season he is giving it to predecessor who's record is much over a longer period with meagre resources.

The man has lost the argument, the players, the fans, and now he has lost his dignity

Bobby just go

Not to mention invoking the memory of Howard to try to support his case. Disgusting

Bottom line is it is bang out of order for Martinez to swipe at Moyes. Moyes did a good job with limited resources and Martinez had no right to dig, especially given that he hasn't done anything that Moyes didn't and has spent more.

Neither Moyes or Martinez are top managers, both have their flaws and strengths, and its time for us as a club to strive for better.

I'll always be thankful for what Moyes did, given his resources and budget and consistently taking us to a top seven finish - especially when you look at what he took over from.

Martinez gave me the best year supporting Everton (that I can remember) in his first year in charge and built on what Moyes had left - albeit with a bit of luck. Since then though, he's destroyed everything Moyes built to install his own philosophy - which I wouldn't of minded had it worked - but it's been quite the opposite.

As I said, it's time for us to strive for better and get back to the top with this new owner - make a statement and bring in a world class manager. No more nearly men, bring in a winner - someone that might spice things up and do things different - but after 21 years of nothing I think it's safe to say we need a change.

Reading that bolded line makes me feel so sad. 2 or 3 generations of Evertonians have been let down. I was only 9 in 85 but I remember it fondly. I will not rest until I see the club back to what it is truly capable of.

This. I'm the same, just genuinely interested in your reasons and opinions for this.

??????

Up until a few weeks ago, I kind of believed that he was just in a massive 'phase' of having his head up his arse as other great managers have been through...I am now of the opinion that this is a permanent state of delusion. Just didn't want to have to relinquish the 'school of science' song.

And to think thousands of blues were singing the 'stuck with moyes' song whenever we played united. (n)

I think sacking him and getting in someone who wantaway players would consider worthy for them to work with is kind of imperative, sadly - so scratch 2 million.
