Not saying I disagree who is the better, but yes it can be debated if people want to for one very good reason.
Trophies won by Martinez 1
Trophies won by Moyes 0
I am aghast that 2 people have added their votes to the poll within the last hour for him to be retained !!!!!
Who are these people ?
Moyes won the community shield in 2013
Can we all just take a minute and lighten the mood by appreciating the fact he was even remotely linked with the Barcelona job (true or not) after his first season with us - madness lollollol![]()
Is the anyone out there who actually wants him to stay? If so I would like to hear some logical reasons. Seriously interested.
And to think I was worried about him leaving at the end of his first season with all the Barcelona and Spain hype about him!Can we all just take a minute and lighten the mood by appreciating the fact he was even remotely linked with the Barcelona job (true or not) after his first season with us - madness lollollol![]()
yes, Hammers was the game which saw a critical mass turn against him.
Niasse has turned out to be the rock upon which H.M.S. Martinez ran aground.
Spurs 9 Wigan 1 is on Sky's Football Gold now
Bottom line is it is bang out of order for Martinez to swipe at Moyes. Moyes did a good job with limited resources and Martinez had no right to dig, especially given that he hasn't done anything that Moyes didn't and has spent more.
Neither Moyes or Martinez are top managers, both have their flaws and strengths, and its time for us as a club to strive for better.
I'll always be thankful for what Moyes did, given his resources and budget and consistently taking us to a top seven finish - especially when you look at what he took over from.
Martinez gave me the best year supporting Everton (that I can remember) in his first year in charge and built on what Moyes have left - albeit with a bit of luck. Since then though, he's destroyed everything Moyes built to install his own philosophy - which I wouldn't of minded had it worked - but it's been quite the opposite.
As I said, it's time for us to strive for better and get back to the top with this new owner - make a statement and get in a world class manager. No more nearly men, bring in a winner - someone that might spice things up and do things different, but after 21 years of nothing I think it's safe to say we need a change.
