I've no problem with him having a dig at Moyes, he bent over every time we went to Old Trafford for Sir Alex and then tried to screw us over first chance he got, no having him at all. Prefer Martinez over Moyes all day long and I don't care if upsets the Martinez haters.

I want Martinez gone as well now but he gave us a hell of a first season but unfortunately he hasn't been able to build on that and his times up. can't entrust him with our biggest summer in years based on his transfer dealings of late and absolutely disgraceful defensive record with three England internationals...shocking.

But he can have a pop at Moyes all day long as far as I'm concerned, he's been a breath of fresh air for me, inviting Kendall to FF etc. Shame it has to end this way but that's football, results matter, making decent subs matter, spending £13.5 million for nothing matters, losing Naismith matters, terrible defence, etc, etc. No problem with Martinez the man, just don't think he's right for us now, defence ffs...

Understand what you're saying but for me he hasn't even earned the right top have a pop at Mike Walker never mind Moyes

Still think when you look at the squad and basically see it has 1 striker (kone and niasse dont count), 3 defenders (one 21 years old), 3 right backs but only one is fit to play for the team all season, 35 year old midfielders, one winger fielded at a time etc. for me it is going to be refreshing when the squad just makes sense again!
Yes. Right back cover is definitely a problem. Has been all season. Look at Saturday! Several of the old guard should be released in the summer. Keeping Rom and Stones might be challenging too. This is why I think we need the change now so that new manager can have a period of assessment.

Glad to see you have eventually seen the light ;)

Haha.

In my defence, I think at the time when I and a few others stuck by him he was showing signs he knew what he was doing.

Since the start of March - specifically that West Ham result - I think many lost faith though. Then I think against Arsenal, the players lost faith too. Throwing Baines under the bus was the final straw and, although we played very well in the second half at Wembley, there's now nothing left to play for and really no reason for him to stay.

The first half of the season we were playing some brilliant stuff going forward.

We had that spell through Jan to Feb where, bar the league cup defeat, we were looking like we'd found a balance.

But he's/the squad have complete lost it from then and now there's nothing.

Like I said, I don't disagree.......just saying it can be debated for that very reason, as he said it couldn't.

In fact look......we are debating it!

Anything can be debated, but some debates are very short. This is one.

Moyes was never taking us to the next level and for that reason I'd never want him back. But unlike Martinez, he did take us up a few levels and made us a top 7 team whereas beforehand we were relegation battlers. Bobby is taking us back to where we were over a decade ago in spite of our much stronger squad. But I'm just rehashing here. We all know this. We're just trying to occupy our time until Mr Nice Guy is shown the door.

A short personal asessment of saturday for me was no back up right back caused issues on the right for us, no left mid caused problems on the left and having no striker caused us issues trying to win the game.

Obviously a lot more to that, but that is the basics without a giant write up lol

Yep, I'll actually do anything to avoid doing some work.

Alex Mccleish has multiple Trophies including a league cup here. It's a flawed argument.

Good managers must sustain a certain level. Moyes was immensely consistent at a higher level than Martinez, who consistently delivers bottom half finishes.

On the other hand Moyes has been found wanting in both jobs he has had subsequent to leaving here and his fall from grace bith at OT and in Spain was much quicker and much more spectacular than Bobby's fall here.

The truth is both Moyes and Martinez are bang average managers whom would both have been out on their arse at Everton some time before they eventually did go if they had not been employed during the Bill Kenwright era.

Arguing which manager is the best between the pair of them is like two bald men arguing over which shampoo is the best IMO.
