Not having it that Woods/Elstone decided it - or called Martinez to a meeting to announce it - supposedly at Goodison and now in Haydock..

Obviously Kenwright (unwell, lives in London), Moshiri (lives in London and elsewhere but not up here) wouldn't have travelled up for this "meeting" so how/why can it take place?

I guess we don't do sacked on the team coach stuff (Chelsea/AVB) though.

Whilst I dont believe it, this is how it could have gone down.

Moshiri, Woods and Bill discussed it after the game, made the decision.

The new Russian Board dude and Elstone meet Martinez in Haydock, bullet him.

Moshiri and Bill interview Jose and Pep in London.

Maybe done a video conference from the places

It is however perfectly feasible that BK and Mr.Moshiri talked at length with all the other directors immediately after the game yesterday and more by telephone and the decision to terminate his contract was agreed.

BK could then request/instruct RE to contact the manager, preferably face to face, to advise him of the decision and to make arrangements to meet him at Finch Farm tomorrow to hand over any necessary paperwork and oversee the emptying of his desk and removal of personal affects.

It needs to be done quickly, quietly and the announcement made without the attention of a needless media circus.

Upon a new manager agreeing terms etc, then the media circus can be convened.

I think instead of seeing 'Martinez sacked rumour' stories from newsnow.co.uk, for the next few days, it will be rumours of Lukaku heading to places, Stones to hand in transfer request, etc. I think if we lose the Bournemouth game or don't even put moves together until the second half-again then Martinez will be sacked. What a waste though. After beating Chelsea, we gave him a chance. He has failed. He has to go. What a waste to not have forced him out and try to get ourselves into the FA Cup history books. An utter waste of time. What's even worse? Martinez does not deserve this. And sacking him may not lead to improvements. That's the sad state of affairs. Moshiri, you became part of a club, now it's time you showed you are prepared to take over it.

I will say I dont believe anything has happened today, personally.

I can honestly see them trying to give him the season.

He wont survive the Bournemouth game tho IMO, toxic doesnt even come close to how that game will be if he remains, the club really needs to think hard and long about putting any man through that.

That's my view.

If we draw/lost to Bournemouth, he's gone.

If not I think we'll stumble on until the end of the season barring any major catastrophes (like the derby) and he'll go at the end of the season.

Saying that, I wouldn't be massively surprised if he went this week - but we wouldn't get a replacement in before the end of the season. That will be done in the summer.

Not sure why everybody assumes Bill and Moshiri need to be in the meeting.

Elstone is a board member and CEO? The new Russian dude is a board member?

Not sure on roles currently, hence the ? marks, but it only takes 1 person to bullet him.

Given the state Bill looks in and the rumours about his health etc, probably best he swerves something that stressful anyway when it has to happen, and Moshiri just seems to me the type of bloke to have his Hitman pull the trigger from a distance

Decent way to get Elstone to show his loyalty to you as well by getting him to personally pull the trigger on Kenwrights boy

If these rumours are to be believed it makes me feel a bit more comfortable about the quality of any potential replacement. The open interview process that both Liverpool and Everyon embarked upon in hiring Rodgers and Martinez was embarassing. Top managers do not interview. You woo them, you court them, then you ultimately beg them. You don't put them on shortlist a with Phil Neville and David Unsworth.
