He genuinely seemed to have a few tears in his eyes at the start of the game, and his post-game presser seemed to suggest a man that wants to continue his work.

The club has two options here.
  1. Announce the boards full support of the manager, and we as fans get behind him and the team for the remainder of the season.
  2. Sack him, and put someone else in charge until the summer.
That being said, I think the board needs to come under question here. @The Esk claimed that Martinez was made aware of his sacking in advance - which as a supporter really bothers me. Without doubt the players were made aware of his pending departure, and performances since have been abject.

Ist a shame it had come to this. The board can keep him but I fear for him at the next home games with the moods our fans are in. This could get really ugly quickly and I don't want to see this happen. In Martinez eyes, he desperately wanted to win us a cup and put his focus on that which i didn't mind. An f.a cup win and 10th in the league would have been acceptable to me.

He nearly got to the final in the league cup and the ref and the lineman did make a mess of this game.

Then we had this game yesterday, then we were in bad form and and the fans were down, Martinez lost the plot, players struggling and it was to late for him to fix the issue for the game yesterday.

Like kenwright said he a wonderful man and fell in love with the club,I do like the guy and wished it worked out for him but kenwright needs to let him go and not put him through the abuse he going to get at the next home games.

And if we were mindless robots, we would. Unfortunately for Boards all over the land, supporters have - and are entitled to express - their own view.

Once the pen was saved we started pressing from the front and driving forward at pace by ditching the sideways/backwards passing* also RM finger based dance move on the touch line seemed to get noones attention. To be at least that seemed proof that they played their own game.

*except on occasion Ross who seemed to slow it down with little backwards passing. Whoever comes in will have to work hard to free him from the "coaching" he's received over the past three years.
I agree with you there good point I think the whole squad needs to work hard tbh I really feel for the players with having to see him on a daily basis talking nonsense he does my head in the media let alone

Its nof "money not spent" bit ir highlights that hes not had backing to make signings of reasonable amounts.

Look at the midfield for example:

RW-- Lennon £4.5mil / Deulofeu £4.2mil
DM -- Barry £0 / Besic £2.5 (rising to £4mil
DM -- McCarthy £13mil
LW -- Cleverley £0 / Kone £5mil

Thats £29.2mil for 7 players there which works out to be £4.1mil per player. Thats overall quite amazing value really i think.

Off the top of my head hes built that from Mirallas,Osman,Gibson,Pienaar and done so without any sizeable outgoing transfers from MF (if fellaini counts as a more forward player like barkley).

Personally, i would say that if were going for champions league we need to be keeping the likes of Cleverley,Besic,McCarthy,Deulofeu and adding another amount of £29.2mil+ to bring in top quality in midfield.

I don't think that he's spent a lot relative to the rest of the league BUT him bringing it up now for the first time is a ridiculous act of desperation. He never complained at the start or end of any transfer window, no, all was happy in Martinez land with talk of being stronger after every window.

Good post mate ..

Minimal investment?

Mate, please if you are going to quite numbers in your posts actually do a minimal about of research first.

74 million spent, 10 received in transfers over the last 2 seasons.

£4mil Besic
£4mil galloway
£2mil robles

i mentioned this in a previous post...those numbers are wrong 100%. I know for a fact besic and galloway are made up of appearance based payments and galloway on national caps.

He just fighting for his job which is natural

The Esk has said were going for a big name manager or one still developing from the continent but much more pedigree than martinez.

Hope so but when have we ever signed a manager from the continent. I do hope it Moshiri who is looking as kenwright doesn't look past our league. He will be looking at Eddie Howe

Agreed. Its the only card he can play.

I think those days are gone imo

Eddie Howe would be nailed on if investment hadn't come, Young manager from a smaller team who wouldn't kick up a fuss when he's given 4 magic beans to spend in the summer

Kenwright would never have had the balls to go for a bigger name because they would have brought up the lack of funds in the press and rocked the boat

Moshiri will have advisors mate. Kenwright will be one of them now but there will be others.
