There was minimal investment. Hes spent nowhere near other clubs...probably mid table level.

This seasons performance and league table position (and last) has little to nothing to do with out spending vs other clubs... it's to do with being beaten by teams which set out technically better than us and have players with the correct mindset! End of story really

This 100%. The idea that how much you spend determines where you will finish is diminishing now. Everyone is over paying for players and we will also become victims of that in summer if, as we are led to believe, we are going to have money to throw around. With the new TV money every club in the prem is going to be paying way over the odds for players. Look at Man U and Liverpool as prime examples of this the last two years. Spent bucket loads but their squads have not been improved. The idea that we are mid table team based on our budget is silly especially taking into account the calibre of teams sitting comfortably above us. The failings lay at the managers doorstep.

With regards to investment, we must look to Leicester! Money isnt everything, as they have proven! Talent coupled with desire, energy and an inspirational or motivational leader is enough! We have the talent, but that is all! Whether that is all down to Bobby can be debated ad nauseum, but he is certainly central to it and as such should be the first out the door!

Frustrating time...we probably have to watch Martinezs face god knows for how long...I want him GONE NOW FFS...
Does my head in this.

He has ruined it all and he still is there with his delusion. We deserve better.

Moyes had sides with everything you are talking about with Everton...sadly he lacked the guts to do what Ranieri is pulling off with Leicester.

While I don't think he'll ever get back there, Martinez's first season was not far off from what you are talking about.

Which teams have been fsr superior to us though? Other than Man Utd, RS games there hasnt been anyone who has really turned us over.

If you remove Leicesters freak season then what teams above us have spent less? Spurs from Bale money and who else?

Stoke did £18mil on one CM which is about what we spent on Lennon/Deulofeu and Mori...

If you remove Niasse from the spend then were where we should be and most other teams are as well taking into account what thay had to begin with.

GK -- Peanuts on Joel
DF -- Mori only notable signing £9.5mil
MF -- McCarthy only notable signing £13mil
FW -- Lukaku only signing £28mil

The rest are all £5mil and below.

Clearly to have technical players with 'the right mindset' you either need to get them in young OR take a punt OR sign proven quality.

Ive moved to the martinez out camp but fully agree with him that he hasnt had real investment in the squad....on paper hes swapped Fellaini for Lukaku and then not had the funds to bring in quality around the pitch....

We're already there fella - overpaid massively for a player that Martinez says won't even contribute this season. And he's on £55k a week !

he had more then moyes a lot more not having a go at you though but if kenwright had a brain he'd see that and put us out of our misery

Everyone who wants Martinez gone should. The board would be getting hit in the pocket then and would have to take immediate action. Arsenal did it the other day, it is a perfectly legitimate means of making your views clear.

The only financial hit the club would take from any boycott would be in non ST tickets sales, programmes, food & beverage and merchandise.
Given the clubs shops will soon be going into end of season sale mode, just how much merchandise would realistically have been purchased otherwise?
Granted, if we'd won yesterday, merchandise sales would be high, but then you wouldn't be calling for a boycott either.

I've suggested this in an earlier thread, that if Martinez is not dismissed this week or even next week, then that is time for a well-written on-line petition voicing our concerns is raised and then subsequently sent to the club.

Not going to go in to this too much but forwards alone is 48.5 million. Not sure why u are not including Niasse, but Kone as well.

This is what i cant understand. He hasn't had investment relative to other teams. Players he's signed over £5mil:

Lukaku £28mil
McCarthy £13mil
Niasse £13mil
Mori £9.5mil

So, 4 players of which Niasse seems a disaster. These days if you want proven top quality its £20mil+ and if you want above average its £10mil+

His net spend is between £40mil-£50mil which is the equivilent of signing a couple of top players when alot of other teams have spent FAR more.

You seem to know more than me though so do you have a link comparing our net spend with other teams since he's been in charge?

i would guess this season we would be mid table or lower same as the wages.
Was gonna respond but you come across as a bit of a idiot with your skewed stats and arsy statements. Should just include players over 20 million and he's barely bought anyone and pretty much worked miracles. /sarcasm
