I'm waiting for him to say the fight back was because we had away fans with us and not the toxic home ones. That second half had nothing to do with him at all.

lollollollollol

I've played 11 a side and if you belive that, you have no idea what you're talk about. You do not follow him out unless everyone is playing man to man marking, you're leaving a massive hole to be exploited, it wasn't on a counter attack which I can understand, it was a passage of play where the the player could have been passed off to the fullback.

There where holes everywhere in that first half, we where getting dragged left right and centre and that's the reason why. People where getting pulled our of position and United were utilising the holes to find space and turn at us.

Try understanding the game, it may help you a lot. And 5 a side doesn't count :coffee:

Wave good by to your saviour, there's a p45 coming his way:bye::bye:
Hahahahahahahaha

You're so wrong it hurts.

If Jagielkas man is Rashford and Rashford picks up the ball in the CF "zone" he presses Rashford once he obtains it until he releases it.

If Rashford takes him wide, someone plugs the gap, Jags makes him play it backwards and then returns to conventional position.

It's the most basics of basics.

The holes are from CMs not plugging gaps. From full backs not plugging gaps.

You are and always have been one of the more inept, clueless posters and are showing it here.

Unfortunately, you seem to share such traits with the relevant tactical ones of Martinez.

LOL. Try cricket.

Disgraceful that Lukaku took the pen with Baines unequivocally, and even Barkley, a proven better peno taker. As soon as it was given I shouted, 'NOT LU'. Shows that Martinez doesn't have the courage to stand up to Lu. Another nail in Roberto's coffin. The only consolation is it's inconceiveable he'll still be in charge at the start of next season.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez: "It is a hard result to take. Over the 90 minutes we at least deserved the right to go into extra time. We were a little sluggish in the first half but we got the equaliser but to concede in injury time is a blow nobody deserved.

"I thought the fight we showed was really strong, a team with incredible togetherness. The support we had behind us was terrific. We coped with the tough period in the first half and we were strong mentality to cope.

"The longer the game went on, the bigger chance we had. The game was going our way, the chances were coming and I felt we were the stronger team. It is tough to lose a semi-final because the feeling is a very undeserved feeling. If you are going to lose a tie that is the way you lose it, creating chances and in the second half we were the better side.

"There was no comparison between today and Anfield. Everything that goes wrong can go wrong but today was the opposite. We reacted with an incredible fight and togetherness. The performance was a typical Everton response."
Unreal.

Yep, the game today has showed the players were perfectly able to raise their game and reflects how they just weren't interested in the league for the past month. That's down to Roberto losing them. No doubt we'll return to spineless football again next week. If we let it run til the end of the season, we're just setting players up for more hostility from fans, and encouraging top players to leave us over the summer. Even if it's an announcement he's leaving, or a caretaker in charge, something has got to happen before the next training session.
Right? Best option for him, fans, and players. Just draw a line under his tenure. Gutted he turned out to be a false dawn, but that's what it all was. The fanbase and board were more than patient and he just failed. It happens.

Sadly I think he'll see that spirited effort in the second half as enough for him to not resign. Had 2nd half matched the first he'd surely have had no choice.
