This really isn't a case of me pretending to be any football expert but even in his first season I saw this coming. I told the 3 other lads who I travel each week to the game with that the football was overrated. Even then his team, in my opinion, had no real bottle when it mattered and never really put their foot in and mixed it. I was wrong of course as it is a results based business but even then his teams kept no shape and discipline in my eyes. We could never mix it up and win ugly like a Fergie or Jose team.
Last season was the worst in 40 yrs a season ticket holder that I saw week in week out in terms of performance. This year the results have been as woeful as last but early doors the performances were better.
The players are not scared of him. Not that you shoul be scared of your boss at a place of work but you know what I mean. Under Moyes we were good at bouncing back after a woeful performance. The 3 0 Wigan game was the worst under Moyes but the week after the players turned out against Man City and never game them a second on the ball. Real passion that made us proud of them. You can count on one hand over the Clown Bobby years that they have put a proper shift in. The one that gets the fans off the seats as the tackles go in and we win the war.
Spurs are the best team I have seen at Goodison this season. They can play but are on top of you all over the pitch and work hard. Just think about it. A team full of decent players who work hard and are well drilled in terms of keeping team shape. Simple really.
The great managers like Fergie and Jose get their teams to win ugly at times. When have we ever really won ugly with this clown? Remember the Jose park the bus at Anfiled match the year they nearly won the league. He set them up to win the game. He had a plan.
A good manager gets the best out of what he has to work with. In this respect Moyes, despite limitations, was a success. Remember the Stracq against City and Chelsea. Performances that made you proud, really proud. We won through effort. Bottle.
I believe that you get out you what you put in. Bobbys teams do not really put it in and never have. That's what I saw early days. He has no idea how to win ugly. That's what I saw early days.
He has philosophy. We have never had the players to play like the Arsenal invincibles which is his what he strives to achieve. We have no Henry, Bergkamp, Overmars. Hard work and effort is the leveller. That is what I saw early days.
His departure can't come quick enough for me.Anybody who worked with Alcaraz at Wigan and then brought him to Everton worried me. I said this to my fellow travellers in season one. I am now right. I knew all along....,,he really is one of the worst managers out there.
Support the team like hell on Saturday and just hope that the occasion makes them have that extra yard and desire. The desire that the manager does not demand. The extra yard and desire that has never really been there throughout his reign. The missing edge that I saw early days.
